19.01.2022 In normal years this is BATHURST weekend, alas not in 2020. But in 1978/79 it certainly was for me and a hard working group of mates. Here’s a few photos I’ve found tidying up recently plus some previously posted. In both years our pit was near the start line hence the front row grid photo of Brock and Morris A9X’s. And the foggy distant grid photo is 1978 when fog delayed the race start by 30 minutes. ... Car #43, 1978, car #39, 1979. Finished both years. Best result 19th outright. And I’ve still got one of the dry break fuel churns over the years signed by many drivers. See more

10.01.2022 In the Sandown pits in May 1969 the Norm Beechey HK Monaro rumbles towards the form up grid before race start. Mechanic Lou Mallia at the wheel. Note, no roll cage, not even a rollover bar! One of my personal photos from my boyhood days.
