01.01.2022 A reflection on our VPF performances Game 1: SSSC 2-0 Dasmesh SC It was a comfortable win and a perfect start to the tournament. Joti picking up where he... left off SSSC tournament opening the scoring and then providing a excellent cross for Prabh to head home a 2nd goal. Game 2: Khalsa Lions B 1-1 SSSC A good contest against a young Khalsa side with our reserve players getting some quality playing time. Game 3: SSSC 1-0 Azaad Club Melbourne A very tough QF against a strong Azaad side. It was a fast paced game in which we forced an early own goal to take the lead. In the second half, we had a number of chances with captain Joti Sekhon hitting the woodwork twice. Game 4: Khalsa Lions 0-1 SSSC This was our best game of the tournament. We had Ashu missing from starting lineup picking up injury against azaad in QF and rinku missing picking up red card in the same game. As expected the hosts made it hard for us to score in the first half keeping it 0-0. Joti scored the winner during the second half. Jassi picking up red card was felt by the team but the boys showed great character to finish the game on top, with better finishing could have been a different scoreline. Game 5: SSSC 1-3 Shepparton PSC Pargy picking up an injury in warm up didnt help and conceding an early penalty put us on the back foot. Shepparton was hard to break down in the first half. In the second half, we started well by opening up the play and created chances. Our opponents surprised us by scoring another 2 quick goals. Goldy got us one back with his free kick. The difference at the end was that Shepparton took their chances and converted into goals which we lacked throughout the game. #sssc #bluelions #psppropertygroup #bluelions #togetherforever #runnersup #vpf #tournament #football #singhsabha #soccer
