24.01.2022 Whoop whoop got my ballot in the mail today, I was beginning to worry they'd forgotten all about me, like they do at school when you're last on the roll call....... Here's how to find and VOTE [1] for me on the ballot paper (and my voting preferences). Ps. Make sure you post back the ballot by 22nd October. #happyvoting#

17.01.2022 Good to join virtually with Minister Alan Tudge MP to speak to Goch Kot and members of the South Sudanese community this morning about mental health support thr...ough COVID-19. Our Government continues to provide additional support to organisations supporting culturally and linguistically diverse Australians, who may be experiencing additional challenges in getting the support they need. This includes our $10 million ‘How’s your head today?’ campaign, which will be translated into 15 languages to support multicultural Australians.

15.01.2022 The Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs of the Africa Center for Strategic Studies: I am humbled by my appointment as the Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs ...of the Africa Center for Strategic Studies at the US National Defense University in Washington. Since I joined the Center as Adjunct Professor in 2016 and later on as Professor of Practice in 2017, I have been enjoying the best of my academic freedom and conducive work environment. I am so grateful to the leadership of the Center and the University for allowing me to ascend to this top academic leadership position and to benefit from the "Greatness of America" of valuing people based on their merits. 07.01.2022 On Monday 2nd November 2020, the Society of South Sudanese Professionals Australia (SSSPA) hosted a Zoom meeting with Federal Ministers, the Hon. Greg Hunt, Minister for Health and the Hon. Alan Tudge, the acting Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs. The meeting was a joint effort, attended by various stakeholders including members of SSSPA, elders and community leaders across Australia. The meeting seeks to foster a closer workin...g relationship with our governments both at State and Federal level in addressing issues affecting South Sudanese Australians. The meeting discussed issues ranging from racism and discrimination, media vilification, unemployment, future of young people in the immigration detention centre, mental health issues, in particular, the concerns over the events of Covid-19 and its looming repercussions. There was brevity to the discussion during this meeting, capturing the solution-focused spirit of the meeting. Member representatives for the South Sudanese community conveyed a sense of urgency with which they hope the two Federal Ministers will heed our time-sensitive concerns. Both the Hon. Greg Hunt and Hon. Alan Tudge were receptive to the various proposed initiatives, with a demonstrated eager interest for a concerted effort to bring about lasting changes for the South-Sudanese Australian community. The Australian community generally is challenged by the unfortunate events of COVID-19. The South Sudanese Australian Community is only but a marginal percentage of the wider community, but it faces acute challenges placing it at the forefront of the national and local agenda. A swift and collaborative response is crucial to the curtailment of what is to come. We thank the two ministers for their time and commitment to working with us. As we continue to engage closely with concerned Ministers, SSSPA with the support of community leaders across Australia will continue to update the Community of any development. Greg Hunt MP Alan Tudge MP
