23.01.2022 Announcing Augusts .NET User Group ONLINE: It will be presented by SSWs William Liebenberg on 19/08. William will present Blazor Web Apps - Goodbye JavaScript! Im in love with C# By this time next year, most of us will be hooked on Blazor WebAssembly. Now we can run C# code directly in our browsers and get the bonus of having a full .NET stack for building enterprise web applications. In this talk, William explains how for many years the only options we had were to use ...JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, etc. While these frameworks are wildly popular and fully capable, .NET developers feel the pain and waste a lot of time gluing a JavaScript front end web application framework to a C# http://ASP.NET Core backend. The pain increases with different tooling for the front-end and back-end. Blazor WebAssembly is now generally available and adoption rates are skyrocketing. Come see William demonstrate how easy Blazor is for developing enterprise web applications! Register now: https://r.ssw.com/2Dua3eJ

20.01.2022 Do you use an architecture diagram? A good architecture diagram (aka a cloud architecture diagram or system architecture diagram) gives a great overview of your project. An architecture diagram lets you see at a glance what the overall structure of the solution is. This is useful for gaining an understanding of how the system fits together, how it works, and what it does. It also helps to easily show which components can be improved due to updated or better components (or improved architectural guidelines). 09.01.2022 Do you know how to take feedback/criticism even if its not your fault? Problems arise all the time, and sometimes bugs happen and mistakes are made. At that point, the response we give is important. When a problem is raised to us, it can feel like an accusation and we feel the heat, as it appears we are being blamed. Then some of us can give a defensive reply it never improves the situation. In any job, you will most likely at some point face some criticism. Someone may ...be telling you that youve done something wrong or just expressing displeasure because you didnt do something they wanted. At SSW we recommend that the best way to take this is to reply to the person and tell them the following the 3 As: Acknowledge, Apologize, Act.
