We also wish to acknowledge those who are unable to be with us this weekend. ... 'Father, grandfather, uncle, friend. There is room in the heart for all the affections, as there is room in heaven for all the stars.'

18.01.2022 We hope all our families are warm and snug at home as our staff gather together today to plan for our next remote learning experience. Has anyone else had snow?

17.01.2022 Congratulations to our senior students for facilitating a successful Mission Day. Our generous community raised $1360 for Cambodia. This money will help to provide shelter, food, education, and life fulfilling opportunities for children in need, especially those with disabilities.

15.01.2022 Always was, always will be!

15.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Addie for her effort in this year’s MS Readathon! Addie read 22 books (2 chapter books and 20 picture story books). She also raised $509 to donate towards those living with Multiple Sclerosis. Addie is incredibly proud of herself for achieving this in one month. Because she raised over $500 she is now on the MS Readathon hall of fame wall! Great job Addie!! ... Did anyone else participate in the MS readathon? We’d love to hear how you went!

13.01.2022 This week we celebrate NAIDOC week. This is always a special week in our calendar and despite it looking a little different in 2020, we are still excited to explore this year’s theme Always Was, Always Will Be. NAIDOC Week 2020 acknowledges and celebrates that our nation’s story didn’t begin with documented European contact whether in 1770 or 1606 - with the arrival of the Dutch on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula. The very first footprints on this continent were... those belonging to First Nations peoples. This morning we will raise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags to acknowledge the long and continuing connection to our land. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. This Wednesday at 4pm we will be having a Reconciliation Action Plan meeting via Google Meet. This is an open invitation to all parents and carers who would like to join us to hear about the work that is being done in this space and our plans for 2021. Please email Emily if you would like the Google Meet link to join us. [email protected]

12.01.2022 We would like to send our best wishes to these 5/6 students and some of our 3/4 students as they take part in the Australian Maths Competition today. This is a national and international event for students who want to test themselves and improve their Mathematical problem solving skills. We love seeing our students take up opportunities to challenge and extend themselves as learners. Thank you to Lauren Spicer for supporting these students and coaching them through this valu...able learning experience. Good luck!

11.01.2022 Last night Dr Justin Coulson presented a Facebook Live Webinar on ‘Lightening the Lockdown Load’. He shared tips and tricks to get through Remote Learning 2.0 and discussed concrete strategies and habits that will help support you and your family at home. Another great webinar to look out for on his page is ‘Little People, Big Feelings’ which will be out on Monday 7th September.

10.01.2022 Here is a story for you to share today called 'My Dad!'. Happy Father's Day!

08.01.2022 Over the past two terms we have had the pleasure of seeing all the new uniform changes truly come into effect with the return of our winter uniform. The new changes have allowed girls to wear pants, promoting both freedom of choice and gender equality. Being able to swing on the monkey bars, play basketball or do a cartwheel comfortably was something our girls said was important but not always possible in a dress. While these issues may seem trivial to some, they fuel the ge...ndered expectations of the past the belief that girls aren’t strong or shouldn’t be physical. But we know our girls can do and be anything they wish to be! A big thanks to Bok for leading this process and empowering our students to use their voices to enact the change that really mattered to them. We will keep striving for gender equality to improve the future for our girls and women, as well as our boys and men. Have a look at some of these dashing students showing off the new navy blue pants and winter uniform! We also wish to thank our School Advisory Council and parent community for supporting these important changes.

08.01.2022 Oh oh...look what’s been happening since you’ve been gone....teachers on the loose! Let’s hope Eileen regains some control! (Although it looks like she might be up to some mischief too...)

08.01.2022 Flat packs! These students had the task today of putting together some new bookshelves. As we all know, flat packs require accurate reading of instructions, good organisation of your materials and a whole lot of patience! A fun and practical learning activity today and we are happy to report they were completed without any screws leftover... Great job!

07.01.2022 Here is a link to our Week 7 Assembly. So many great things to celebrate over the last two weeks. Well done everyone! https://sites.google.com/saballarat.catholic./assembly/home

05.01.2022 This week we are looking forward to celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day! Indigenous Literacy Day is this Wednesday and we will be sharing some great activities and books throughout the week. To celebrate this special day we have created a 'Walking Book' on the fence at school. It provides all our families with a chance to get out for a walk and enjoy a wonderful book called 'My Island Home'. Check out the video for more details.

05.01.2022 Today we celebrate St Alipius Feast Day with a virtual liturgy. For the first time ever, we have not been able to gather as a community and celebrate our 167 years of continuous Catholic education. God bless all of our community on this special day.

05.01.2022 Together we are stronger. NAIDOC 2020: Always was, Always Will Be.

03.01.2022 We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays! Don’t forget that our Week 10 Google Site is still open and has lots of activities and ideas for the break. It looks like geocaching and making a platter were a popular choice from the site! Stay warm over the next few days and hopefully next week you can get out for a scavenger hunt, bushwalk and some more geocaching.

02.01.2022 Check out this free event on Friday! A great opportunity for our students to engage with a local artist and learn some new skills for our Visual Arts year. Artist Deanne Gilson (Wadawurrung) will read The Wadawurrung Creation story to children over Zoom, followed by some guided drawing exercises including traditional marks and how to incorporate them onto a shield design. Children will learn how to draw yam daisies and a basic Bundjil (Wedge tailed eagle design). Woven into ...this, Deanne will also teach some Wadawurrung language words to the children. Deanne Gilson is an emerging elder and proud Wadawurrung woman of Aboriginal and Australian/English descent. Follow the link for free tickets below. The Zoom password will be shared with ticket holders before the event. Enjoy!

02.01.2022 We are beyond proud of past St Alipius student Indy Hayes and her new venture The Minority Co. Indy is educating and empowering her customers by creating clothing with powerful slogans and messages. Today she featured on the Visit Ballarat site.
