21.01.2022 While we were unable to formally gather in our usual ANZAC Service this year, the St Andrews College community continue to pay tribute to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice in all theatres of war. Today, our students were presented with a video to guide them through our reflection of the ANZAC legend during and after the fateful days in Gallipoli. We listen to stories of pain, suffering and enduring heartache as told by ANZAC survivors. We have a moment of silence, hear... the last post sounded, pray and sing our National Anthem. We do all of this to express our gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we have today. Here is our very own Mr Brian Zammit sounding the Last Post and Reveille as part of our tribute.

18.01.2022 Over the weekend, the Government announced major new measures to respond to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and repeated its advice that schools will remain open for stu...dents and staff. There will be some very important changes for schools: All school excursions outside of your schools local community will be cancelled until further notice, including all overnight excursions and school camps All major arts and sports activities and events will temporarily cease (this includes whole school sporting events and interschool events) Smaller, local interschool sport and other activities will be able proceed Schools may choose to stagger recess and lunch breaks Schools will avoid large gathering such as whole school assemblies and other non-essential school activities involving more than 500 students Schools will use technology options for communication and collaboration where thats possible Social distancing' is being encouraged, this includes avoiding handshakes, hugs and other forms of incidental social contact No groups of students will visit aged care facilities or attend other facilities in the local community (e.g. hospitals, pre-schools etc) where there are elderly people or other people with underlying health conditions. Your school will keep you updated about other changes. A reminder that the three most important things we can all do that really make a difference are: Wash hands regularly and thoroughly Sneeze into your elbow or a tissue, disposing of the tissue straight away and then washing your hands Keep your child at home if they are unwell or show signs of being unwell. Learning is continuing and your school will also be able to provide online opportunities to support students if needed. Thanks again for your understanding as we continue to work together to respond to COVID-19. We will provide more information in the days ahead, including by updating the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta website.

12.01.2022 Ash Wednesday at St Andrews College, Marayong saw our College enter into our Lenten season. Students attended Mass on the Junior Campus and at our Parish Mass. Through all of our College receiving Ashes with the words, "Turn away from sin and follow the Gospel" we were reminded that this season of Lent calls us to prepare ourselves in heart, mind and deed to imitate Jesus' example more closely. In Lent, our emphasis on almsgiving, prayer and fasting assists us to prepare the way of the Lord. Our thanks to Fr Flor for his faith leadership today and everyday.

03.01.2022 On Friday 13 March, the Australian Government announced new advice as part of its response to the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The new advice is that 'non-...essential events' with more than 500 people should not take place and to avoid overseas travel overseas unless it is essential. The health and safety of our community is our priority. With this in mind, and consistent with today's advice, Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta schools will avoid gatherings of students and staff such as whole school assemblies. Wherever possible, technology options for communication and collaboration should be utilised and schools should reconsider 'non-essential' school activities involving more than 500 students. Well keep you updated about what this means for specific events and activities at a school level as time goes on. Detailed information about COVID-19 is also available on the CEDP website. Thank you for your continued support as we work together in response to this important issue.
