16.01.2022 Thank you to The Chronicle for featuring our ground breaking story on the front page of today’s newspaper.

15.01.2022 This week St Andrew's staff have gone pink in support of Blush week. Staff supported a cake and merchandise store raising $3,437 This money will go towards education for patients along with care packs which are given out post operatively, the advanced breast cancer monthly support group and the 10 week intensive exercise program which is offered FREE to all our local ladies in conjunction with QLD X-Ray and the Fitlab. Breast Cancer Awareness month is all about raising the a...wareness of the disease. Here at St Andrews we have cared for over 100 ladies and one gentlemen who have been diagnoised so far this year with breast cancer, (yes men get breast cancer too). 99% of those ladies have said to us that they never thought it would happen to them. This year in Australia we expect to see over 19,970 people diagnosed with breast cancer. 1 in 7 ladies in Australia will have a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime with the average age around 61. However the good news is the survival rate for the disease is around 91%. So please if you notice any changes in your breasts, are concerned about a lump, thickening, discomfort, discolouration, dimpling, size change, nipple discharge, itchiness, or anything at all, contact your GP or our amazing staff at the Diagnostic Breast Clinic here at St Andrews.

15.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and recognises the contributions made by Indigenous Australians. Always Was, Always Will Be. Always Was, Always Will Be. recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.... NAIDOC Week 2020 acknowledges and celebrates that our nation’s story didn’t begin with documented European contact whether in 1770 or 1606 - with the arrival of the Dutch on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula. The very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples. Our coastal Nations watched and interacted with at least 36 contacts made by Europeans prior to 1770. Many of them resulting in the charting of the northern, western and southern coastlines of our lands and our waters. This nation’s story began at the dawn of time. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. Always Was, Always Will Be. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC

06.01.2022 A very big thank you to Chris Edmondson from NGU Real Estate for the donation of $4,000 towards Mental Health Services. The funds will be used to support our nursing staff to undertake specialised training, credentialing and development in administration of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS is a therapy offered at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital for treatment of depression, whereby electromagnetic stimulation (via the TMS machine) is administered into the frontal aspect of a person’s skull. The treatment sessions are very short (15-30 minutes), non-invasive and for the most part, painless. Outcomes of patients that undergo TMS are very positive.

05.01.2022 St Andrew's Day Saint Andrew’s Day, celebrated on 30 November each year, is considered a national holiday in Scotland and across Europe. Known as the patron saint of Scotland, Romania, Greece, and many more European countries, Saint Andrew was an apostle who not only introduced his brother, Peter, to Jesus, but also helped Scottish King Oengus I win a crucial battle against Northumberland, securing Scotland’s safety. Saint Andrew died a martyr and was crucified on a saltire,... or an X shaped cross, in Greece in 60 AD. Happy St Andrew's Day
