22.01.2022 Last day of the 2020 school year for our students tomorrow, so everyone is welcome to wear suitable ‘coloured clothes’! It’s clean up day so please no good clothes and stay sunsafe!

22.01.2022 And we are off! Our ‘bus ride’ was a hit, with students shown the highlights of Canberra! We visited Parliament House, and passed a new Bill in the House of Representatives. Students also created their very own Prime Minister caricatures and are patiently waiting for their call up to the Herald Sun!

22.01.2022 Happening now...our Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 students are watching a live webinar from the Office of the eSafety Commissioner! They are learning how to be an eSafe kid!

20.01.2022 This week in Science Kinder are learning about the features of plants. We learned how to construct a diagram and plant a broad bean seed. And for some of us, we wrote our very first word...grow!

20.01.2022 Our Footy Colours Day will be held in conjunction with Mercy Day on Friday 25th September. To celebrate we will offer a Footy Food Day menu in the canteen. Check out the menu on the Qkr! App now. More details will be available in next week's newsletter!

18.01.2022 To finish off Day 1, we visited the Australian Institute of Sport! We learnt about healthy eating habits and how to be a good leader. We then put our skills to the test by working together as a team to create a number of shapes! Some very tired children but a great day!

15.01.2022 Next stop- The Great Scavenger Hunt! Students worked their way through Canberra to crack the code! Mr Hart dropped in to cook us a BBQ lunch wearing a questionable apron! Bellies are full and heading to the Australian Institute of Sport

Get in quick to place your order as the menu will close at 12 midday next Monday 21st September. No orders will be accepted after this time to allow for preparations for the day.

11.01.2022 This week, Year 5 have been focusing on Multiplication & Division. We have been working hard on 2 step worded problems, and furthermore, discovering the mathematics that is required to solve the problem. Our CSU Prac student, Miss Spinelli, created a Multiplication & Division ‘Amazing Race’ activity for everyone to participate in. Another fun way to consolidate our week of learning in Year 5.

11.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the school office today! Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we have started to fill around our Christmas tree with gift giving gifts! Don’t forget to use the Qkr! App to purchase a gift for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal, there are tons of toys to donate!

11.01.2022 Year 5 have been focussing on Patterns & Algebra this week in Maths. They have been discovering how to use the inverse operation in order to solve equations, find a missing numeral, as well as supporting their answer. To finish off their learning this week, Year 5 engaged in a Patterns & Algebra ‘Escape Room’ activity.

07.01.2022 Despite COVID-19 and the limitations it has placed on us all, our Albury VEX Robotics teams have been determined to participate in tournaments and events. For their efforts, Team 2640V (Annabelle, Lily, Amarli and Cooper) won the Design Award at their first event and have qualified for Nationals in March 2021! Year 6 students (Koda, Sam, Oliver, Lia and Eva) from Team Perseverance won the Robot Skills Award at an event over the weekend and have also qualified for Nationals. Our first team to travel to Worlds in 2018, now ARCBOTS, have also qualified for Nationals!

06.01.2022 R U OK? Day. This week, Year 5 have been talking about ourselves, our emotions and what we can each do to make ourselves feel good and in a positive mindset. We then discussed different ways that we can check in with those around us to ensure that they are okay, not just today, but on a regular basis. We created a poster that included the steps of checking in with our friends, with some suggestions on how we can do this.

06.01.2022 We received a delivery today from the road safety team at Albury City. Check out the new banner hanging on the fence near the parent’s car park! Next term there will be a media launch which focuses on school zone safety. Watch this space!

05.01.2022 Next Friday (last day of term 3) we will celebrating Mercy Day with a 'Footy Colours Day'. To add to the fun we will be having a special 'Footy Food' menu in the canteen. This menu offers 4 choices of 'footy food' as well as drinks and frozen moo boxes. The menu is live now on the Qkr! App and all orders must be place before Monday 21st September at 12 midday, as this will allow Cathie to make preparations for the day. Place your orders now because unfortunately no late orders will be accepted!

05.01.2022 Wow, what a busy week it was for our Year 4 classes last week with our students receiving Eucharist for the first time! Today they enjoyed a fun celebration complete with cake, pizza, movie and games! Thanks to Cathie for the spectacular cake that everyone enjoyed!
