23.01.2022 Elvie Perry came to band on the 15-10-18 and kindly donated $1000, with the ongoing improvements we are working towards at the moment the money is very greatly appreciated. Elvie spoke about her families past connections with family members playing in the band over many years and stayed on to listen to practice for the evening.

18.01.2022 Thankyou to all that came to the Bingo night at Donald, bit of a struggle to find the energy to go but once there it was a good night. Our table certainly did ...well with the bingo starting with Joanne Postlethwaite getting the lucky number and a good prize, several wins throughout the night around the table and finishing with Jane Battersby winning the final flyer. 14.01.2022 Reminder this Thursday night the 2nd of August is Bingo at Donald Golf Club, need to be there by 7PM. If anyone would like to support the band this works as a fundraiser for us, the more we can get there the better for the band.

13.01.2022 Thankyou to everyone who helped, came or had anything to do with the movie tonight. Its been a great success for the band as well as an excellent movie to see, win win all round!

13.01.2022 Well done with the Christmas Procession everyone, a lot of smiles from the footpath as we marched down and some good comments afterwords. The only problem we have is that our flock was spotted by the Department of Ag and he has slapped a deep quarantine on the mob, he has a big problem with the sheep that had pink blotches all over it! Under the threat of having to destroy his mob the Wooley Shepard has gone directly to the court of appeal, he needs his flock to graze the gardens for carols tomorrow night. Further to that he has an agistment agreement with the Farmers Arms Hotel Monday night, these are trying times for him but if he can get his mob over the line he can rest easy for Xmas.

12.01.2022 At this point in time band practice is Wednesday night this week with the hall still not finished regards the painting, must say its looking good inside and will be a lot brighter as well as cleaner looking once its done.

11.01.2022 Tonights Carols by Candlelight is now to be held in the Uniting Church, we need to be ready to play by 7.30 so see you all very soon after 7 for set up.

11.01.2022 A beautiful sunny day for the Wimmera Band Sunday at Red Cliffs.

08.01.2022 A few more pictures from procession night, Bobs wayward sheep!

07.01.2022 Bob has sent an email to those he can that the Australia day flag raising isn't until 9.30 in the morning as opposed to 9, happy Australia day!

07.01.2022 The band has been asked to provide numbers for a table for the hospital foundations Broadway 2 St.Arnaud show which is October the 6th, ( show night). $50 a head with nibbles and supper provided and drinks at bar prices. We have five going but a table for twelve, some of us are committed elsewhere with the show and cant go so if anyone would like to support the band table, it would be great fully appreciated.

06.01.2022 Break up this year was once again a great success, congratulations to Jenny Brown for deservedly winning this encouragement award. The guitar hanging on the pub wall after a quick tune was put to great use by Steve and the ensuing sing along was greatly enjoyed by all. Merry Christmas to everyone from the band with many thanks and much appreciation to all that have supported us throughout 2018.

06.01.2022 Our annual playout for Carols around town hasnt made the paper, not many will know whats happening so please share the word if you can. By the time we go to the Nursing home and hostel it will be getting on towards 7-30 for the our stint near the fountain, and this is the bit that needs promoting. Then of course its back to the band hall for some supper with the choir so dont forget a plate to share.

06.01.2022 Jeff breaks out with his all time favourite at our break-up tonight.

06.01.2022 Message from Bob, Australia day flag raising is to held as near as possible to 9AM, so the plan is to be at the band hall ready by 8.30 for a quick practice before we shuffle off to the event.

05.01.2022 Reminder to all that are interested, Bingo again this Thursday 1st of November at Donald golf club with registration from 7PM. This is a fundraiser for our band so the more we get there the merrier, this will also be the last night up there for the year.

05.01.2022 St.Arnaud Xmas Procession 2018

04.01.2022 Sorry, missed this one in the previous post.

04.01.2022 MORE PHOTOS FROM LORRAINE JOYCE Further to the 1955 band photo below Lorraine, whos father Vic Joyce was a teacher at the primary school from 1953-1960, has sent us more pictures from the same day. We think by the photos the parade started at the Old Post Office, Millet Street, and finished at Lord Nelson Park, a pretty fair march at any time. Win Battersby who we believe is leading the marching girls, reminisces that there was a thunderstorm before the parade earlier in the... day which cleared for the event. We believe the parade and subsequent festivities were to celebrate St.Arnauds centenary from 1855 to 1955. The float pictured is by the primary school and isnt it a beauty! Win says that this was the first time the marching girls had paraded, one of the photos also shows the Pipe band which was only formed a few years earlier, if you look hard they can also be seen in the background of one of the float pictures. Its also fascinating to see the history in the background, check out the name on the now ANZ bank and note the size of the Norfolk Palm in the town hall precinct. We are indeed lucky and very grateful that Lorraine has found our page and cared to share the pictures with us, thank you again Lorraine. See more

04.01.2022 Thankyou to those that came to Donald Thursday night and supported the band at the Donald Bingo night. That winds up our Bingo commitment for the year, the year is starting to wind up with just our Rememberence Day and Xmas gigs to go.....where has it all gone?

03.01.2022 Carols by Candlelight with the Choir. Wet grass and unsure earlier in the day as to how the weather might be that night carols were moved into the Uniting Church. A little cramped but otherwise a good venue we were entertained by the 2 primary schools along with the choir for the evening. A bit interesting when the lights went out which lead to some improvised notes but even that added to the occasion.
