24.01.2022 Thank you to the parent class representatives for organising another wonderful community gathering at the St Bede’s Pool Party on Friday night. This was an opportunity for families to gather together socially before the year winds up. What a great way to celebrate as the weather warms up!
24.01.2022 That’s amore ! The doors were opened to the Year One Italian Cafe this afternoon. Parents and special guests were waited on by the students after their immersion in Italian culture through their inquiry unit. There was garlic bread, pizza, lasagne and gelato on the menu, all prepared by the students after lessons from Nonna, parents and professional chefs! The hosts were outstanding and the food was fabulous. It was wonderful to celebrate the students’ learning through such an enriching experience. Thank you to Mrs Dwyer and Mrs Elliott for creating the idea and helping the students to prepare.
21.01.2022 Happy 100 Days of School to our very excited Kinders! What a year has it been. It took a little longer to get to here but they finally made it! Congratulations. You are looking great for 100 years old!
21.01.2022 St Bede’s welcomed Liberal ministers Alistair Coe and Elizabeth Lee to donate and plant trees as part of their announcement for green spaces in the bush capital on World Environment Day. Our school leaders, environment leaders and waste wise warriors assisted Ms Lee in planting natives and oaks around the school grounds to promote #worldenvironmentday. As we take care of ourselves at this time it has also highlighted the importance of taking care of nature.
21.01.2022 This year’s Caritas Australia theme for Project Compassion is 100% Hope. Lives change when we all give 100%. The St Bede’s Social Justice team has led the paper crane giving tree this lenten season raising $1278 for Caritas. Thank you to the very generous families in our community who have contributed to this amazing donation. Today was Purple Pancake Day where students were invited to wear the colour purple and participate in pancake flipping races to continue raising awareness of the hardships faced by those in great need, such as 12-year old Thandolwayo who travels seven kilometres each day to gather water for her family. You can follow her story at https://lent.caritas.org.au/page/week-1

20.01.2022 St Bede’s students were lucky to have a visit today from Olympian Louise Dobson as part of the Olympics Unleashed program. Louise provided great tips on goal setting, finding inspiration and the importance of positive role models. She also expressed gratitude for the great responsibility that parents take on to encourage and support their children to play sport.
