24.01.2022 The St Demetrios Church Committee would like to thank all that attended Nameday Celebrations this weekend. A joyous day filled with great Greek food music & dancing with the Hellenic Dancers. A thank you to Stratos The Bouzouki Player who entertained us all on this special day. We also express our gratitude for the attendance of representatives from QPRC & Greek Embassy / Association Groups. It is only due to the enormous efforts of this Committee & Philoptochos including many other volunteers that has made this celebration a wonderful success. May St Demetrios bless you all.

24.01.2022 Dear Parishioners and friends, The Saint Demetrios Queanbeyan Church Committee has been advised from Archbishop Makarios, with the apppointment of a new Parish Priest for Saint Demetrios Church. Reverend Iakovos Syriotis is officially new Parish Priest commencing 7 June 2020. The appointment is very welcome news as Saint Demetrios Church enters a new phase. Reverend Kostantinos has wanted to step down as Parish Priest for some time and this news is welcome personal relief. Re...verend Kostantinos will still be involved with Saint Demetrios Church, as he has indicated to The Committee. The Committee wants to provide all Parishioners and the broader community the opportunity to thank and congratulate Reverend Kostantinos for all his hard work as Parish Priest. The Committee will be organising a farewell for Reverend Kostantinos, however due to the current restrictions, the farewell will occur at a later stage. The Committee will ensure to advise all with confirmation details at an appropriate time. 17.01.2022 Last week a well respected member of our community sadly passed away unexpectedly. Nic Manikis of Nics Shop in Queanbeyan was especially well known for the unreserved kindness that he showed to all. His enduring service to the Queanbeyan community will serve as a testament to his family & will forever remain in our hearts. The St Demetrios Church Committee expresses its heartfelt condolences to the Manikis family & respectfully cancels the upcoming dinner dance scheduled for this Saturday.
