25.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone xxx

23.01.2022 Cancelled...... training for tomorrow 9th February 2020 has been cancelled due to the rain. Enjoy a sleep in, and stay safe out there.

23.01.2022 We hope everyone had a fantastic class today, we had two Beginners Classes and 1 combined 1,2,3 class. All dogs in my combined 1,2,3 class today were very settled and relaxed. We did lots and lots fast basics, foot work, turns, and social skills exercises. The weather was lovely. Membership fees are due NOW. Membership is $40 per year. Classes for members are $4 per class.... Classes for non- members are $25 per class. Please bring your Registration paper, vaccination certificate and $40 next week and you will be issued with your new membership card for 2019/20 season. See more

22.01.2022 Its a good thing we cancelled today apparently the Cooks River has broken its banks and the surrounding streets and parks are underwater.

21.01.2022 We’re back! Training resumes 29th November 2020! After a long break we are happy to announce that we will be resuming classes on Sunday 29 November 2020!! We hope to get in a few weeks of training (and homework) in before our Christmas break from 13th December - 10th January 2021.... Please note that following COVID guidelines, there will be a maximum of 30 people (including trainers) so it would be advisable to come early to secure your place and that only the dogs and handlers be at training. Look forward to seeing you at Cahill Park, Princes Highway, Wolli Creek at 8.00am Sunday 29th November 2020.

20.01.2022 So many new members - fantastic to meet everyone. We ran 4 classes today 2 beginners classes with Robyn and Linda, a 1st class with Kaz and a combined 2/3 with Jenny. We hope you all enjoyed your class and learned something new. Please remember to bring special treats, wear runners ( not flip flops/thongs) and use a manageable leash. Membership is $40 annually and once that is paid then each visit is just $4. The casual non-member fee is $20 per class. Remember in this hot weather the ground is extremely hot and will burn your dogs paw pads. Walk early in the morning or late afternoon/evening or in the shade.

20.01.2022 Definately a winner!!! Tooo cute! Credit : ViralHog

Dog school resumes on January 19th.

19.01.2022 Are your pets lapping up having you at home? Here are some tips on how to prepare your dogs for when we return to work. Stay safe.

19.01.2022 Welcome all of our newbies - its great to meet you all and your doggos. It was really hot this morning but with plenty of water stops we got through. Remember to bring a simple dog leash - retractable leashes are very tricky to manage when you are trying to juggle them with treats. Please remember to wear runners/sneakers - no things or sandals. All the dogs were terrific today and settled in quickly. We had 3 classes today 2 beginners classes with Linda and Kaz and a combined 2/3 with Jenny. Heres some pics from the food refusal. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend and remember the ground can be way too hot for your dogs paw pads - walk late or early.

18.01.2022 We had a fantastic turn up today. Jenny took a combined 2/3, Kaz took class 1 and Linda took the beginners class. We had so many happy dogs and it was lovely in the sun. In class one we focused on hand signals, voice commands and correct foot work- I talked everyones ears off as usual- we also did step backs and return to dogs, we did recalls and socializing skills. We practiced turns and paces and just to mix it up a little I threw in some pivot turns...... heres a littl...e video- I think these guys did great considering it was there very first attempt. Thanks to Wendy Stepkovitch and Jebby Jebster for volunteering, as usual you did a fantastic job of manning the desk and managing the memberships, registrations and payments, we cannot thank you enough. Another huge thanks to Sean (Shadows dad), who rides his bike to Cahill Park every Sunday morning and helps carry out and set up all the tables, chairs and equipment (and he also helps to pack up), Sean then races back home, grabs Shadow and races back to Cahill Park to join in the class - what a juggle. And lastly a huge thanks to Jenny and Linda our volunteer trainers who give up there Sunday morning sleep ins to teach our classes. On behalf of St George Dog Training Club I would like to wish all our Dads and yes that includes Dog Dads too a wonderful Fathers Day.

18.01.2022 With everyone staying home this Easter, theres even more opportunity for an unofficial (and often late night) Easter egg hunt to occur. Yes, its officially chocolate season. But does eating one small piece constitute an Easter emergency? Here are all your egg based questions answered

17.01.2022 Just a reminder- NO dog school tomorrow as its Easter Sunday- enjoy the long weekend and remember NO chocolate for dogs.

16.01.2022 I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our trainers and all of the other Volunteers who give up their time every Sunday ( and during the week), to keep this fantastic little club running smoothly. The collective knowledge of or trainers ensures that we can help you with just about any doggo issue. So if you are a volunteer at the park on Sundays or working tirelessly behind the scenes. THANK YOU.

16.01.2022 We just wanted to share the following article as its important that members know about this illness and maybe you can inform your friends. There is a vaccine that dogs can get for the disease. https://amp.theguardian.com//rare-disease-spread-via-rat-u

12.01.2022 In a word Sunday was COLD but not cold enough to deter our regulars and also loads of new members. Someone was so cosy at home that she accidentally wore her slippers to dog school!!! Here are some pics from Sunday- I even got a shot of some very cold spectators.

12.01.2022 Good morning everyone, firstly we hope everyone is coping during covid if nothing else it’s given us more time with our doggos. Also there is plumbing works currently being carried out around our club house making access impossible. Stay safe, stay 1.5 - hopefully we will see you all ag...ain soon. Karen

09.01.2022 Hi everyone, Linda has been in touch with Sydney Water regarding the completion of works at our site in Cahill park. We are now just waiting for them to finish off making the site safe & clean. So hopefully this will happen swiftly. In the meantime time continue to walk your dog and practice what commands & hand signals you know. If you have a new pup and are planning on joining us please keep in mind that your pups vaccinations must be up to date at 12 weeks and that you ha...ve the necessary vaccination certificates to show us. Your vet can email these to you. Hopefully I can confirm a starting date very soon. Karen.

05.01.2022 Please stay vigilant- there have been a lot of reports of dog baiting recently - watch your dog like a hawk- practice/reinforce the leave it command.

05.01.2022 Another case of dog baiting. "This is also an important timely reminder to dog owners to keep their dogs on a lead and under control at all times to ensure their safety." Please keep your eye out and practice the leave it command.

03.01.2022 Food refusal is so important these days with so many dogs picking up baits in local parks.

02.01.2022 On Sunday we held our AGM and also the presentation of trophies from our Mock Dog Trials. Congratulations to our two legged and four legged competitors.
