25.01.2022 Congratulations to those who came to the Principal Morning Tea this morning. Congratulations for a great term of learning and being recognised as safe and respectful learners

25.01.2022 Over the past two days our kinder/1 class have designed and created a habitat for an animal of their choice. Students used many different materials and got creative when making their habitat. This was a fun way to finish our science unit on living and non-living things

20.01.2022 Jesus asks us to care for every human. In Stage 3 this week we spoke about the Corporal works of Mercy and pondered the following questions. Do you think that we ever meet anyone who is any of these things today? Where? Hungry and in need of food?... Thirsty and in need of water? A stranger who needs to be welcomed? Someone who needs better clothes? Someone who is sick and needs to be visited or looked after? We are inspired by St Catherine of Siena St Teresa of Calcutta St Vincent de Paul and the work they did for the poor and needy. We recognised that there are many people in our lives who need help and so have decided to try to support our friend Mason by raising money to give to him. Please support our efforts tomorrow and allow the children to bring a gold coin donation for a zooper dooper. From Stage 3

20.01.2022 Stage 3 have been preparing for the very special season of Advent which starts next week and leads us into Christmas.

16.01.2022 Slime mania continues! Ms Hillier's maths group made Glitter Slime today - more measuring, more stirring and more fun!

15.01.2022 Ms Hillier and some boys have been cooking up a storm this afternoon. They made fresh scones to have with the mulberry jam that Mrs Taylor cooked over the weekend using the mulberries from our trees at school. Abbie, Harper, Mrs Abbott and Miss Brannan were very willing taste testers and gave them a 10/10! Everyone is looking forward to mulberry jam on toast at breakfast club tomorrow morning.

15.01.2022 Fun with area investigations today in Stage 1 maths! Students were only given one unit to measure the area of each shape. Lots of cooperative group work, which we love to see!

11.01.2022 Max and Stella, Our Captains did their own learning walk last Friday to capture some happy smiles. Term 3 has been a big term, but as always, the students, parents and staff have done it together. Stay safe in the holidays and thank you for being the people you are.

10.01.2022 Over the course of the year many of our senior students have participated in a virtual book club. We meet in small groups each morning with students from St Joseph’s Hillston and discuss all things reading! It’s been a wonderfully successful initiative, expanding our vocabulary by stepping outside our comfort zone when choosing books to read. We have developed some warm relationships and made lots of connections along the way. Today was our last session for the year but many are looking forward to doing it all again in 2021!

10.01.2022 Mrs Abbott's literacy group was so excited to share their poetry with Mr Cowan today. They have been working hard all week to plan, draft and publish their own haiku poem. Still lots of learning happening!

10.01.2022 Transition will take place tomorrow for students attending Bourke High School in 2021.

06.01.2022 Stage Three are studying 3 dimensional shapes this week and we have been expanding our vocabulary. Did you know a 3 dimensional parallelogram is known as a parallelepiped? A 10 sided 3 dimensional shape is a decagonal prism! We wondered what a 12 sided 3D shape may be called and found it was possibly a dodecahedral prism!!! We tried to create some interesting models and then named and discussed their features.

05.01.2022 A very special Thank you to Dale and Corina from the Rural Fire Service and the local police. They spoke to Stage Three about fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire. It sounds like we may have some future fire fighters in this class!

03.01.2022 Today Julia came in from Landcare to teach K/1 about the different fish that live in the Darling river. We played a fishing game called ‘good fish, bad fish’. Students learnt the names of each fish and which ones are good for the river and which ones are bad for the river

02.01.2022 This term in history, Stage 3, have been learning all about the Gold Rush. Today we felt successful in sharing what we have learnt by finalising our research projects and we even had a go at panning for Gold! Eureka!

01.01.2022 Congratulations to one of our Stage 3 students who has won a rising star art kit after entering the Inside Art competition. The theme was the limits of your imagination and obviously Oscar’s imagination is sensational! Well done Oscar
