24.01.2022 Our thoughts tonight are with those who have passed away, those injured and those first responders and emergency services who have been impacted by the devastating incident in Beirut today.

24.01.2022 COVID-19 has changed many things in society and this includes how St John volunteers undergo training. This last weekend our teams spent their free time training in essential skills so they can help members of our community, when needed.

23.01.2022 A Community Recognition Statement was made by our local MP Lynda Voltz MP in parliament on the 4th February 2020 for the contribution if Granville Combined Division to the NSW Bushfires. Thank you Ms Voltz for recognising our members.

23.01.2022 Today is International Youth Day!! The theme for 2020 is Youth Engagement for Global Action, highlighting the ways in which the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes. We are so proud of our youth program and our amazing youth members who through their volunteering enrich our local community. So today we recognise the contribution of our youth members and say thank you for your enthusiasm, your willingness to grow, your contribution to St John and your service to the community.

23.01.2022 More important information from Dooley's Catholic Club about COVID-19.

22.01.2022 A team from Granville along with our two ambulances arrived this morning at the Batemans Bay Evacuation Centre to help out the team who have been there working so hard. Our teams are not there to relieve them but to compliment the stretched team. Other Granville members are also supporting this emergency by staffing the Public Information Inquiry Centre (PIIC) to answer calls from the community. Hoping everyone stay safe and thank you all for your commitment.

21.01.2022 Many people know that Granville Division has been servicing the Cumberland community for over 100 years. Many would be surprised to know that the division has supported the community during pandemics prior to Coronavirus. This photo dated 1916 shows our members at the time of the Spanish Influenza pandemic. The station in the photo is literally only around the corner from our present hall. While major incidents and pandemics may come and go, it is reassuring to know one thing stays constant, our ability as a community to tackle these challenges together and come out the other side stronger and more resilient.

21.01.2022 Auburn Local Member of Parliament, Lynda Voltz last week addressed parliament to recognise front line workers and advocated for our local government area. We very much appreciate the ongoing support of Lynda Voltz MP as well as her colleagues who have supported St John Ambulance Granville during the COVID-19 pandemic.

21.01.2022 Today is the start of bushfire season. With COVID-19 being front of mind it is easy to forget the ever present challenges that Summer brings. Last year Granville Combined were privileged to be in a position to assist communities on the South Coast devastated by fires. Again this year we stand prepared and ready to support our communities should they need our services. We would also like to acknowledge our volunteers who with often minimal notice are so willing to be deployed for days at a time, demonstrating practically our organisational motto of "For the service of Mankind".

19.01.2022 On Saturday, members from St John Ambulance Granville Combined Division had the pleasure of attending the final day of the SES school holiday program at Newington Armory. This program was run by the NSW SES Auburn Unit facilitating 22 highschool students who after 4 days of intensive training put their new skills to the ultimate test in 4 challenging scenarios. St John Ambulance Cadets Kelly, Mikayla, Hillary, Melissa and Angela from Granville Combined Division put their ow...n skills to the test today working together with their brothers and sisters in Orange. These St John Cadets provided support and assistance to the SES cadets in a First aid Advisory capacity and got right into the team spirit, spirit that was quite evidently right in the heart of this program. These scenarios incorporated knowledge of First aid, communication, Leadership, Land search, navigation, flood boat operations and a variety of other rescue techniques. Well done to all the Cadets from both SES and St John, watching you all come together to form such a strong interagency collaborative effort was nothing short of amazing and an exciting representation of the future of our organisations. Special mention to the Auburn SES unit Management team for all the work that went into the planning of such a successful event, Thank you for having us. Also to 'Team Storm' who came out victorious and to the two SES Cadets who took out the awards for outstanding leadership and communication. Congratulations!

19.01.2022 Please take note of this warning from our SES colleagues.

17.01.2022 St John Ambulance volunteers spend many hours a year dedicated to training and supporting major events and incidents like the NSW Bushfires. It is not just the training and event attendance that makes all volunteers special, it is their selflessness. Alicia is the embodiment of volunteer commitment, choosing to spend her birthday at a fire evacuation centre on the south coast, helping others with her equally amazing colleagues. Happy Birthday Alicia and thank you for putting others first on your special day. #bushfires #nswbushfire #stjohnambulance

14.01.2022 On Sunday afternoon, Australia Day, a severe storm swept through the local area causing extensive damage to properties in the Granville and Guildford areas. Our colleagues at Auburn SES were activated and out on the road dealing with a range of jobs from missing roofs, a lightning strike to a tree, branches down, property damage and a brick wall blown over by the strong winds. It was our pleasure at Granville Combined to provide support to local SES colleagues by providing them a standby crew at the high risk incidents.

08.01.2022 Some good news for those who attend Dooleys. Dooleys have been a long time supporter of St John Ambulance in the community. Please consider supporting them, a club very much a part of our community and a supporter of many worthwhile local services and charities in the Cumberland Area.

08.01.2022 For National Volunteers Week, it is important to recognise the other volunteers in St John Ambulance. We don't just cover events and provide first aid but we also have incredible volunteers who spend their time in providing First Aid in Schools, Ophthalmic Services, State Emergency Response, Community Transport, Ambulance Officers and many more. These volunteers, all over Australia, are doing incredible work and their commitment is worthy of recognition. Thank you for your time.

03.01.2022 St John Ambulance is so much more than a health services provider to events. 01.01.2022 National Volunteers Week recognises volunteers across the whole community. As a volunteer group, today we St John Granville would like to recognise volunteers from other units in St John Ambulance who helps us and support us.
