24.01.2022 As part of our standard procedure during COVID-19, and to ensure our patients receive the best and most appropriate prehospital care, our Crews will be asking a...ll patients if they have any flu like symptoms. This is to protect our amazing Volunteers and our Community of the Wheatbelt against the spread of any potentially infectious illness including COVID-19. When calling for an Ambulance, you will be asked by the 000 call taker if you have flu like symptoms. When our crews arrive, they will ask you the same questions. Please don’t be scared to answer truthfully, even if you think you just have a mild cold. We have strict hygiene measures in place to keep you and our crews safe. Our goal is to help our community stay safe and stop the spread - but we can’t do that without our resilient and fantastic Community behind us. Stay safe! The St John Team - Wheatbelt

24.01.2022 Con Paioff would not be here today if not for his wife Judy and two kids, Alex and Jordana. In May of this year, Con had collapsed after suffering from a sudden... cardiac arrest in his office at home. The family's quick thinking helped save their father's life, with Alex and Jordana completing chest compressions for 16 minutes before the ambulance arrived. The Paioff family has since been reunited with the heroes who helped save Con's life. Communications Officer, Christine and Paramedics David and Grant were there to meet with the family and reflect on what happened that fateful night. This Restart A Heart Day, let this story be a reminder to everyone that knowing just the basics of CPR could help save a life. Even if you don't know what to do, getting on a chest and proving compressions is better than doing nothing at all. You never know, you could help save a life. #CelebratingLife #RAHD2020 Council of Ambulance Authorities - Australasia

09.01.2022 Landmarks across Perth have turned green tonight to pay tribute to WA's hardworking healthcare staff. WA Premier Mark McGowan said green was the internation...al colour of health which is why the government took the opportunity for this tribute despite not many people being able to see the tribute due to social distancing. "Thank you to all of Western Australia's healthcare workers. They’re on the frontline of our COVID-19 response," he said. "But they also work difficult jobs that keep Western Australia healthy, year in, year out. "They’re heroes, now and always." Mark McGowan.
