23.01.2022 Our Year 1 students enjoyed visits from Queensland Fire and Rescue this week! Thank you for coming to teach us all about fire safety.

22.01.2022 Here are some pics of the last day of Year 6 Camp - Archery Tag and Radio Rogaine. Campers arrived home this morning and are now having a well-earned recovery day. Special thank you to the AMAZING parent helpers, AWESOME JCU pre-service teachers and our WONDERFUL staff for taking this great group of students on their last primary school camp.



21.01.2022 Online bookings for Term 4 Learning Conferences are now open. Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday 13th, Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th October (Week 2, Term 4). Please check your email for instructions on how to book a time through the COMPASS parent portal. Bookings close 3pm Friday, 9th October.

21.01.2022 We have our first photo from Year 5 Camp at Gumburu! Everyone has arrived safely, settled into dorms and showered before commencing an afternoon of team activities. Here are the 'Red Roosters' starting to design their team flag. We are aiming to post a photo update each day, but as internet access can be intermittent this may be delayed at times. Thank you for understanding.

19.01.2022 Year 5 Camp - Day 4 Update: It was a rainy day, so activities were held indoors, before packing up to start the journey home. We celebrated with some camp awards too! A stop off this afternoon at St Joseph's North Ward for games and dinner, before departing on the big bus this evening. Mrs Wade will text parents an ETA early tomorrow morning.

17.01.2022 Tomorrow is MOVE UP MORNING!!! Classrooms open from 8.10am, with students going directly to classrooms. Rolls will be marked at 8.30am, before students move to their 2021 year level for the morning session. We are more than excited to be welcoming our 2021 Prep students. Please arrive between 8.50am and 9am. A parent morning tea will be served in the San Jose Library and the Uniform Shop will be open. Orientation finishes at 10.20am.... Our Year 6 students attend school as normal. They will be in specialist lessons for the morning session.

15.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon was the final session for the GSCC Coding Club After School Program that Years 5 and 6 St Joseph's students have been participating in. The students participated in a Minecraft coding challenge. Congratulations to Noah Tanis, Delight Gono and Harry Petts for winning the challenge. All students have thoroughly enjoyed the learning of either block or text-based coding through Minecraft Education. Thank you also to Mr Fainges, Miss Brown, Lachlan Ward and Angus Gillic for assisting with the running of the program. If your son or daughter would like to participate in either the beginner or intermediate after school program in Term 1 of 2021, please email Miss Lesca at [email protected] to be put on the waiting list.

10.01.2022 It was a trip down memory lane today at St Joseph's for our new TCE based Speech Pathologist - Henryette Jansen Van Vuuren. Henryette attended primary school at St Joseph's. What do we always say? Once a Joey, always a Joey! Welcome back Henryette, we can't wait to work with you in Term 4.

08.01.2022 Year 5 Camp Day 2 Update: Groups 1 and 2 began their day with a 5km walk to Cloudy Creek while Groups 3 and 4 faced their fears on the high ropes. To finish the day, all groups participated in Archery Tag and an Amazing Race. Tonight it's time for the campfire and a night walk to the lookout, before bedtime.

07.01.2022 Year 5 Camp Update: Day 1 - We arrived in Paluma just in time for breakfast. We set up our dorms and then broke into our teams. We did the Bush Tucker and the Story Board Trails. We gathered for a liturgy to reflect on our personal gifts. We finished with some team challenges and free time down at the park.

07.01.2022 Carpark CLOSED due to roadworks on Brilliant Street. Please use old drop off zone at back of oval - Nineteenth Avenue. Mrs Wade and Miss Lynch will be directing traffic. Classrooms open from 8.10am to allow for staggered arrivals.
