23.01.2022 Wednesday saw the students from St Joseph’s CPS celebrating NAIDOC week with some very special visitors! Our wonderful Arts teacher, Mrs Jones, organised the Bindjareb Dance group to come along and perform for us. After their incredible whole school performance, the dance group then worked with individual classes, teaching the students some specific dance moves.

20.01.2022 THANK YOU to our amazing St Joseph's CPS P&F who raised money through their Wood Raffle to help fund the purchase of a 3D printer! This printer will be used extensively under the guidance of our wonderful Digital Technology specialist, Mrs Mary Miller, to physically create designs from our students' incredible imaginations. We hope to keep you all updated with photos of these masterpieces as the year progresses. Thank you, once again, to our very hard-working group of parents and friends who continue to support our staff and students.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Holly from year 6! On Saturday 15 November, Holly represented her swim club, Pinjarra Piranhas, at a swimming competition held at the MARC. She placed second in the 100m butterfly, third in the 50m freestyle and second in 50m backstroke. Holly’s backstroke time has put her at 6th fastest in the state! Well done Holly!

18.01.2022 St Joey’s Early Childhood Play Area Busy Bee The P&F together with St Joey’s staff are holding a Busy Bee to give the Early Childhood play area a much needed tidy up and some TLC. We will be mulching the main areas, adding logs and stepping stones to create new areas to explore and preparing for an extension to the very popular bike track.... Saturday 10 October, from 9am Lunch and drinks provided. Kids are welcome. Bring shovels and wheelbarrows (if you can) Chainsaws with operators needed. Donations of mulch welcomed. This will be a fun way to meet new families and build relationships with our teachers and staff, while we make our play area a better place for our kids to grow, discover and have fun. 14.01.2022 On Friday, St Joseph’s students from years 5 & 6 competed in an interschool NRL competition Our teams competed against students from St Damien’s, South Halls Head and Greenfields. The girls team placed 3rd overall and the boys team placed 4th, with all teams showing great sportsmanship. Special thanks to Richard Gilberd for volunteering his time to assist in coaching our teams in the weeks leading up to the event and on the day. Congratulations to all the students who represented our school!
14.01.2022 Thank you to our whole school community for supporting our 2020 Cross Country Carnival. It was so lovely to be able to share this event with you all and we’re sure the children loved having everyone here. Congratulations to MURRAY who took out the shield with 359 points, closely followed by PEEL with 358 points and MACKILLOP with 343 points. Thank you to Miss Sutton and the rest of the staff who all contributed to the smooth running of the day. We truely saw the spirit of Jesus alive and well. God Bless. Joy and Vanessa

07.01.2022 ST JOSEPH’S TOURNAMENT OF MINDS Congratulations to the Year 5 and 6 TOM (Tournament of Minds) students who competed in the 2020 super challenge! With Mrs O’Dwyer as the facilitator, the students: Isaac, Angus, Bella, Charlie, Ultan, Sophie and Keelia displayed creativity, team spirit an co-operation with brilliant results! TOMS is a problem solving program for multi-aged teams of students who work together to solve a demanding, open-ended super challenge. The challenge consis...ted of the four disciplines: Arts, Language Literature, Stem and Social Sciences. The Teams had five weeks to formulate a solution to the challenge and they created a five minute video to present a solution to a panel of judges for the tournament. There were a number of teams competing this year, including large schools and colleges. Our school Masterminds Team received an amazing result of a Distinction!
