21.01.2022 Yesterday Year 5 participated in a STEM day where they built Rube Goldberg machines to perform an everyday task. They needed to transfer kinetic energy through cause and effect relationships. They had to work together as a team, showing resilience and patience to constantly change their machine to successfully complete the task.

11.01.2022 During our last kindergarten transition session last Thursday we started the morning with a story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". We made caterpillar necklaces using our threading skills. We sang and danced to the Tootle Ta (Mrs Kschenka's favourite song) and sang Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in English and Wiradjuri. During the middle session we engaged in group rotations. We were lucky enough to be able to use the Kindergarten computers and listened to some stories on EP...IC books. We played with kinetic sand, made our names using play dough, played letter bingo and number roll and build. During the afternoon session we were given some seeds to feel and explore. We talked about how they could be turned into something we eat and how we could achieve this. Lots of great answers were given. We put the seeds into the popcorn maker to make popcorn. We completed a stencil on the sequence of how to make popcorn and then enjoyed a bowl of popcorn. We also got a special bag with things we can do and practise before coming to school next year. The bags can be used a library bags.

07.01.2022 Many thanks to Emilie Wendt of Wagga for tutoring our brass students and for giving our band students such a wonderful music education opportunity. Here's the band playing Star Wars back in October this year. Very impressive for Primary School students! Well done everyone. We wish Emilie, her husband and her family the very best as they bring their first child into the world. Band will continue with Mrs Walsh over the next four weeks. So get those instruments out and get practising so we can finish the term with a real sense of accomplishment and team spirit!

04.01.2022 Kindergarten have been very busy making Arctic Adventure head bands whilst waiting very patiently for their turn to visit the Book Fair.

02.01.2022 St Joseph's Narrandera Welcomes Kindergarten Families 2021

01.01.2022 Our first day of Kinder Transition was a wonderful day! To start the morning Mrs Kschenka and the children read 'The Gruffalo'. We then used our cutting and glueing skills to make a Gruffalo. We met our Year 5 buddies who did a fantastic job helping us to get ready for recess and lunch, showing us around the playground and helping in the classroom with our activities. During the middle session we engaged in group activities such as number bingo, letter memory, number slap a...nd push pins. After lunch we engaged in free play. Lots of fun activities like play dough, building, drawing, name writing and making were enjoyed.
