23.01.2022 The girls were so close to making it a set a piece. Well done ladies on securing the silver! It just wasn’t our night. Congrats Canada

20.01.2022 In the light of the new restrictions and shutdowns being implemented across Victoria as we speak, the only logical step for us to take is to finish all of our Beach Volleyball activities as of 23rd of March. This includes Round 10 and Lorne, Sunset sessions, Republica Social 4’s, Altona Social 4’s and Saturday trainings. Thanks to all the coaches, managers, setup and pack down crew, physios, Osteos and volunteers who have helped make the summer as wonderful as it was. We will... start back up again heading towards a new summer and a new season just as soon as we can. Stay safe out there please. al

19.01.2022 Republica start again in 4 short weeks! First night is Tuesday the 8th of October So excited to be back on St Kilda sand again. Please send me an email if you want to be involved! We are always looking for new players, teams and umpires! [email protected]... For more information: http://vicbeach.com.au/republica.php See more

18.01.2022 Hey Team, We are on for Wednesday and Thursday only this week. Tuesday is a public holiday and most of my staff are off doing other fun things! Hope you all have a great long weekend and let me know if you are keen to play on Weds or Thurs this week.... al

18.01.2022 Hey team, We are going to cancel the volleyball tonight. There is just too much rain on the radar.... See you another day.... al

13.01.2022 Another Tuesday at Republica bites the dust, and not in the fun way. Stupid rain. We are cancelling tonight - 16th of October but hope to still run tomorrow and Thursday. Hope you have a safe and dry night.... al

11.01.2022 Hi wonderful people. Sadly we are going to have to pull the pin on Republica beach volleyball tonight, Tuesday the 14th of Jan. There is just not enough air in our air out there today for me to feel good about letting you all run around playing keep the magical ball off the evil sand... Sigh... We are back on tomorrow and Thursday if you need your weekly fix. If you want to do something to help out with the bush fires and all the damage they have caused, feel free to donate your entry fee from tonight to the Vic Beach Bush fires fundraiser, we already have over $8k donated from our magnificent community, including $2.5k from the amazing people at Republica! https://fundraise.redcross.org.au//fundraise-for-disaster- Hope to see you soon for some magical volleyball chasing fun again soon. al

10.01.2022 We are cancelling Republica tonight (Tues the 12th of Feb). It's gonna stay reasonably dry, but it's just too cold and windy out there and not going to be any fun. I'm also a little afraid for all our safety, I've heard rumors that the white walkers have been spotted in St Kilda due to the winter like conditions... Enjoy the night in and see you next time.

09.01.2022 Looks like the Republica beach volleyball comp is also good place to take your new partner for an unusual date night! https://eatdrinkplay.com/melbourne/date-ideas

09.01.2022 Republica Beach Volleyball starts in exactly 2 little weeks! Our first day is Tuesday the 9th of October, and it just can't get here fast enough. We are hoping that this year of Republica beach volleyball is going to be even bigger and funner than last year.... If you would like to be involved in what we do please contact me on [email protected] and I will put you on the new and updated contact list. Hope you had a splendid winter and are standing beside yourself in excitement for summer, just like me! al

05.01.2022 Ummm. Even Id get a little nervous in this game!! Parachutes included?

04.01.2022 Hey Team, The days are getting longer, the air is ever so slightly warmer and if you are anything like me, constantly looking out the window and wondering how soon we can get back on with real life, Beach volleyball life of course. I’ve been in contact with the council and it looks like we will be able to start playing again soon. Socially distanced and heavily sanitized of course. ... Currently we are on the second step towards Covid Normal. Which still mean that the courts are closed (which means please don’t bring along your own net and set it up) and that no sport training is allowed. Community sport training and competition cannot occur. Personal training is allowed, but not sports (I asked) so we are not yet allowed to train. All of the below information is very much subject to change and most likely last minute change. As you all know, it all depends on how we as a state move through the roadmap steps. Most likely we will find out a day or two before we are actually allowed to do anything. This is the best we will get for a while as no-one really knows what the future will look like in these odd and trying times. It looks very much like we will be able to put the nets back up at the start of Step 3, which is currently pencilled in for the 18th of October, which means that we should be back on for Saturday training, Sunsets, Altona and Republica Social 4’s very very soon after that. If you want to get involved in the Republica Comp, Shoot me an email and I’ll add you to the list! ([email protected]) Sadly, tournaments look to be only available from the last step, so likely from the middle of November. I will soon be releasing the 20/21 calendar, but please take it with a grain of salt because as soon as It’s released, it will be out of date. Please remember that the courts are all still closed and that you are not allowed to put up your own nets and play. This includes the South Melbourne and St Kilda West courts. We will soon be putting out a new Return to Sport document which will detail all of the steps/requirements/safety protocols that we all will need to adhere to for a safe, happy and successful return to doing what we love. Stay safe and sane out there and look forward to seeing your wonderful faces again soon. x
