25.01.2022 Harmony Day is celebrated from 15th March - 21st March. It is a day where we celebrate what makes us all the same, and what makes us all different. Children are invited to come dressed in their cultural costume, orange clothing or accessories on any day of the week. E.g. Orange T-Shirts, Orange dress or Hair Accessaries, etc,. The children and Eductors will cook and share the food, talk about where the food comes from, the cultures of our families and how lucky we are that... we are all different. Do you have any cultural recipes or ideas of food that your children love that we can make with the children here at Preschool? Please email recipes or bring them in for us on your next day. We will take photos of our adventures in the kitchen and share them with you on Story Park. Show n Tell!!! If you have any cultural music, DVD's, artefacts, costumes, crockery....bring them in for us to share with the children. We would love to learn more about all of our families.

25.01.2022 Integricare Brighton-Le-Sands Preschool (Monday to Friday) Phone: (02) 9597 2626. Email: [email protected]. Website: https://integricare.org.au.../brightonlesands/ Yvette the Integricare chaplain recently visited our Brighton Le Sands preschool on her motorcycle. During this time, she spoke with the children about road safety and ways she keeps protected when out and about riding! The children were impressed by the bike gear and noticed the sturdiness of the helmet. The group spoke of how this was important for protecting the most important asset (THE BRAIN!). For book week, Freckles the puppet also came for the bike ride too. Freckles brought with him a special story all about courage which was read to the children. This book was written by our chaplain Yvette. Freckles was pretty chuffed that he had his very own story written with him as the main character. Happy Book Week! You can download this FREE story today (just click the link) https://read.bookcreator.com/L1bwuwm/CS9dcgLGTfCHJ3Id-V-6yw We want to be the next exciting chapter in your child’s life. 22.01.2022 Our Joey Pouches are all finished and have been posted to Doreen Wildlife and Animal Rescue.......sewn by, and decorated with messages of Love from our kind hearted, compassionate children. The artwork displayed on each pouch was created from their hearts , stemming from the many conversations weve had about kindness and how we can make a difference to some of our favourite animals.....the Baby Joeys. We cant wait to see photos of the Joeys using our pouches

19.01.2022 Look at our amazing Joey Pouches !!! Today we started a project with an aim to help some of the injured or orphaned wildlife, who have been affected around Australia with the recent bushfires. Our children are so proud of their pouches and we are so proud of our children. Tania helped them to operated the sewing machine, the children feeding the material and following the edges of the pouch. Then it was decorating time.....there was some lovely drawings and messages o...n each pouch, especially to make the joeys feel better. When we have finished making all the Joey pouches, we will post them to a special carer, who will use them for the joeys to grow and recover in. We think our children are so amazing and they are so very excited as they know they are actively contributing to the care, health and well-being of our precious wildlife in our environment. See more

17.01.2022 Look at the differences between a typical preschool child’s hand (left) and a typical 7 year old hand (right). Want to know why a preschool aged child isn’t a...ble to write yet? This is why! Their hands are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Playdough, colouring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc. . All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready. via @Raisingherbarefoot

07.01.2022 A cute explanation for our small children on Covid-19. They pick up on what is going on around them more than you know. Keep it simple but include them with important information that will calm any anxiety. https://youtu.be/FqaXBtSaiUE

07.01.2022 The Easter story - Jesus defeats death! Wonderfully acted by the children of Integricare Kinder Kapers Prechool Pendle Hill.

05.01.2022 Integricare Brighton-Le-Sands Preschool (Monday to Friday) Phone: (02) 9597 2626 Email: [email protected] Website: https://integricare.org.au/b...rightonlesands/ Building forts of cubby houses can provide hours of endless fun for children! Plus, it is also a great way to keep the children learning and busy at present while we are encouraged to #stayhome! The children at Brighton-Le-Sands Integricare love building hiding spots. They do this by using crates and various larger materials, slotting these together to make the perfect hideout! We can see this delightful little face peeking through in this photo, showing the satisfaction of being nestled in ones own secret cove! Did you know that as children build forts and cubbies, they are actually strengthening their problem solving and critical thinking abilities. This is because they need to plan out and design the pieces to make the cubby house work! Further, the joy of sharing a cubby with others can build language and social skills.. However, when its a solo adventure, we see independence as well as responsibility fostered as children find a sense of calm in their own special hand-built house! We have some limited vacancies at certain centres throughout Sydney! Check us out: https://integricare.org.au/our-locations/ Give us a call or email us today about enrolment or vacancy options! 02.01.2022 Our community Prayer, Dream and Worry Tree is for our families to add a leave or two. It is displayed on the left where you in and out in the foyer near the locker area. Write or drawer your prayers, dreams, or worries on a leaf for our preschool, family, and /or community. Encourage your child to draw a picture. Take a leaf home to do with your family. Then place your leaf on the tree. The last few of weeks we have been teaching the children about prayer. We made it simple ...by explaining that it is just talking to God. One child explained that it is writing a letter from our hearts to God. This week, some children were given an opportunity to pray for other preschools in the Sydney area. In the coming weeks we will be having spontaneous chats and discussion about dreams and worries. This will be an opportunity to foster childrens emotional development. It is all about fostering a heart of hope and gratitude. As Parents, In an uncertain world, building kindness of character and emotional resilience within our children is hard work, but it pays off big time in the lives of our children and our future relationship with them. We often say "It takes a village to raise a child" Thank you to our educator, Tania, for donating our sweet little boy and girl praying for our display. Please comment or share your prayers, dreams or worries down below.

01.01.2022 Just want to encourage all of us! Our children and families, Our leader Sherelle, our 2IC Tania, EL Nadia and supporting Educators Jemma, Deb and David. You guys are doing an awesome job!

01.01.2022 Mondays Activity Build an inside cubby/fort This activity creates hours of fun.... When your child/ren are preoccupied in their own personal - and safe - space, lost in their own imagination, it frees you up to get some stuff done. Just a few moments peace helps you better handle to the next challenging situation that comes your way during these difficult times. Children possible learning outcomes are: * motor skills and hand-eye coordination, * spatial reasoning, * cognitive flexibility, * language skills, * a capacity for creative, divergent thinking, * social competence, and. * engineering skills. * Structural designs My daughter Emilia build a fort using chairs, blankets, and sticky tape. Throughout the process she discovered that sticky tap did not hold. She tried electrical tape. Emilia also discovered that electrical tape was not strong enough to hold the fort all together. She decided that one blanket kept fulling off and needed more blankets. Over three days her building had a variety of minor and major adjustments until Emilia felt satisfied with the stability of her building. She uses this space to escape the outside world into her own quiet world. A place where she can just be. She also made a sign which adds literacy skills. (Your children could draw a picture) Click link below http://kidfun.com.au/build-an-indoor-fort/ Please post a your childs cubby/fort belong. We would all love to see it. I am really looking forward to seeing some creative cubby houses.
