17.01.2022 Years 7 to 12. Come along to the 'Ignite’ youth event. We are going to see if we can do what the ancient Mesopotamian people could not achieve and build a decent tower. There will be a free sausage sizzle, free cold rock ice-cream bar to give you a brain freeze and X-box games to get the brain working again. Soft drinks are available for just $1. The new Lutheran hot-rod will be there if you are wanting to get your photo taken in the driver’s seat. This Friday at St Stephens Lutheran College 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Rock up at 6 if you want to brush up on your X-box skills. If you ‘miss out’ then you’re ‘missing out’.

Here's some info for you!... 1) Church Mobile Phone - Please update your mobile contact number for Pastor Luke: (04 298 298 92). Pastor Luke is able to be contacted during normal working hours on this new number, or at the office which has an answering machine service (07) 4970 9704. 2) IGNITE YOUTH 1st May 6-8pm at the Hall. IGNITE Youth is the new youth group we are running at St Martin's every 2nd Friday evening of the school term. IGNITE youth is for High School aged children in years 7 - 12. Our first gathering will be a Pizza and Games evening this coming Friday the 1st of May from 6pm - 8pm. Cost will be $5 for pizza. A great evening for the youth of our Church, School and Community. 3) St Stephens College Building Fund . A great way to support our College is through a tax deductible donation towards the Building fund. Donations can be made online by clicking this link, and once you have reached the page select 'Gladstone College'. The LLL will both email and post a tax receipt to any donor. 4) Synod proposal vote from last Sunday. Just some follow up for the proposal that we put to the vote last Sunday at our Half-Yearly Meeting. The vote was close to 90% in favour of supporting the proposal (that both male and females should be eligible for ordination in LCA). Several congregations around Australia are already supporting this proposal (jointly prepared by St Peters Indooroopiliy and St Stephens Adelaide). Others now include St Andrews Brisbane City, Holy Cross Belconnen, St Martin's Gladstone, The Suomi Conference of Finish Congregations, and there are other congregations in the process of consideration. 5) Project: Connect Young Families. During this week the Admin Team finalised and submitted our proposal for a $25,000 mission stimulus grant provided by the LCAQD. More details to come. Other congregations in QLD are applying for this same grant, and we will see if we are successful at the QLD District Synod in a couple of months. Please pray that God's will bless our application and that it would be successful. 6) Sunday School. Sunday School will resume on 3rd May (Sunday week). 7) Pastor Luke's Availability. Pastor Luke is available 8am - 5pm weekly (except Tuesday & Saturday). If you would like a pastoral visit for any reason please let Pastor Luke know or speak to one of our Pastoral Care Team members (Jon Rose, Yvonne Strauss, Sue Hebel, Laura White, Ingrid Morfey or Campbell Brumpton).
