25.01.2022 A little bit of fun for the whole family to enjoy during these challenging times.

24.01.2022 During this term we are focussing on kindness: Being the I in KIND. What is kindness? Kindness is a strength that manifests in caring relationships with others. It is interpersonal and relevant in relationships. Simply put, kindness is being nice to others Kindness is being generous with others, giving our time, money, and talent to support those who are in need. Kindness is being compassionate, which means to really be there for someone. Such compassion involves a deep conce...rn for the welfare of others. Kindness is also being nurturing and caring to others to enjoy doing favours for them, to take care of them, and to perform good deeds. HOW CAN WE MAKE THE MOST OF KINDNESS IN OUR EVERYDAY LIFE? IN THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER MOST? What can we share? The children have suggested our time, our friendship, what we have. Let’s take the time to sit and listen to each other as we talk about our day. Share our favourite part of the day. Let’s share a story together, a book, a podcast. Play with someone new at recess or lunch. Help your teacher or parents with some jobs. Choose a toy to donate to charity. What random act of kindness can you perform? Sandra O’Brien (Wellbeing Leader) See more

23.01.2022 The staff of St Mary’s wish you all a happy and safe holiday with your children. Please enjoy the fact there is no school work to be done during this break. His next announcement will be the last day of the holidays, Sunday, 12th July. 23.01.2022 Today at St Mary's the students and staff got into the footy spirit before the AFL Grand Final on Saturday between the Geelong Cats and the Richmond Tigers. We held our annual Footy Day Grand Final Parade where the students and staff marched and sung their team songs. The parade was followed by a traditional footy lunch, a pie with sauce. St Mary's wishes the Geelong Cats and Richmond Tigers supporters luck for the big game on Saturday. We hope all of our St Mary's community enjoys tomorrow's Grand Final Public Holiday.

Winners of the Decorated bike, scooter or shoes competition were Olivia (Grade 2) and the Walsh girls, Mila and Quinn (Grade and Prep) we couldn’t separate their efforts. A special mention goes to Cruz (Grade 5). A thank you goes to Vic Health for the great prize from All Terrain Cycles.

19.01.2022 Be the I in KIND. Now more than ever it is important that we are kind to ourselves. The world is pretty topsy-turvy right now, because of the global panic around coronavirus(COVID-19). If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed by it all, be reassured that this is a very normal response. HOW CAN WE MAKE THE MOST OF KINDNESS IN OUR EVERYDAY LIFE? IN THE MOMENTS THATMATTER MOST? Mindfulness is the quality of being present and fully engaged with whatever we’re doing at the moment... free from distraction or judgment, and aware of our thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them. Managing our emotions and supporting each other can be challenging at the best of times. This is why, more than ever, we need to be doing our best to regularly pause, take a breath and look after ourselves and others. Mindfulness provides us with a means of cultivating more objective awareness of our own emotions, the emotions of others, and of external circumstance. In doing so, it gives us more choice in how we respond to the challenges we may face. Wherever you are in the world remain safe and healthy. In the words of Sharon Salzberg. Moment by moment we can find our way though. Sandra O’Brien (Wellbeing Leader) See more
