20.01.2022 21 June was World Music Day which is a worldwide celebration of music. Launched in France in 1982 as the Fete de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1000 cities in 120 countries including Australia. Here at St Michaels all students receive curriculum music lessons from a specialist. There is also the opportunity to learn an instrument and perform in the school bands. Even throughout remote learning, music continued to inspire and motivate our students. What type of music speaks to you the most?

15.01.2022 Today we celebrate the feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Mary had a saying Never see a need without doing something about it. Bishop Vincent Long reminded us last year, Today, we honour in a special way St Mary MacKillop who embodied characteristics that typify the best of the Australian spirit. There is that sense of going in to bat for the battlers of life, to give a helping hand to the needy irrespective of colour, culture or creed; it is that sense of a fair go for everyone Mary MacKillop met the great challenges of her time with vision, passion and creativity. She challenged the status quo and envisioned new ways of living and sharing the Good News. May she intercede for us to do the same as we face the challenges of our time. May we also follow her example..." Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop Pray for us.
