24.01.2022 Did you know that the members of St Peter's Mothers' Union put together bags of toiletries throughout the year and donate them to local crisis centres? These bags are used by people who arrive at the centres, often with nothing, at one of the lowest points of their lives. The bags assist them through this time, with dignity, knowing that there are kind people out there, wanting to help them get back on their feet. This year, these bags will be donated next week, during our m...onthly Mothers' Union Mass. Please join us - 10am Wednesday 18th November. Many thanks to all who have made donations throughout the year. Donations can be left in the cane basket at the back of the church.

22.01.2022 The Great Annual Spring Clean is tomorrow, Saturday 28th November, beginning at 8am as we prepare for Advent and a new liturgical year. There are jobs for all ages, inside and outside the church. As always, the spring clean will be followed by a sumptuous morning tea (covid safe, of course). This is Fr Robert's favourite day of the year, and he will merrily do all of it himself, if he could, but why not share some of his joy and lighten his load!!

18.01.2022 The twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time and the Blessing of a new Dalmatic O God, you revealed your Son clothed in majesty and glory. Accept this dalmatic for the use of the clergy of your Church, that, being clothed with humility as they minister to you, they may show forth his eternal splendor; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

18.01.2022 Revealing the mysteries of time... The altar and reredos have been removed from St John's, Whitton, and after receiving a small restoration, will be installed in the rear of the church in Leeton. Their removal has revealed a small section of the old interior walls at St John's, as it was before being covered in the existing panelling.... Other items that have been removed from St John's include the bell, the sanctuary lamp, the priest's chair and prayer desk. which will all be cleaned and restored, ready to be rehomed in St Peter's.

17.01.2022 19th May, 2013 During St Peter's Centenary celebrations, a time capsule was laid, to be opened in 2063. Parishioners filled it with all kinds of wonderful treasures, including a mobile phone (battery and SIM card still installed). Who will still know what these are in 2063?... https://www.irrigator.com.au

07.01.2022 Please join the 2020 Global 16 Days Campaign, which, this year, you will find online. St Peter's will not be holding its annual candle vigil to raise awareness of gender-based violence. We ask you to instead follow the global daily campaign from 25th November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10th December (Human Rights Day). https://www.facebook.com/16DaysCampaign/... 16dayscampaign.org

06.01.2022 Loving Lord, who has called us to be the body of Christ, make us ready to act as his hands and feet in the world, to raise awareness of what must be challenged, and to address the plight of the vulnerable. ... We give thanks to God for the work of St Peter's Mothers' Union. Members and friends have donated toiletries and handbags throughout the year, and have put together 20 crisis care bags to be donated to the Salvation Army Crisis Centre, and the Griffith Women's Refuge. A special thankyou to Dot, who sorts through the donations each year and puts each bag together. We were also able to donate crocheted blankets, lovingly created by Lesley. Thankyou also to Fr Robert, who continues to support Mothers' Union projects.

03.01.2022 The Feast of All Saints There was a great multitude, which no one could number, from every nation, ... from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice saying: 'Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!' See more
