25.01.2022 Saints & Singers, St Peters male voice choir, would like to share with you their performance of Riversong A Celtic Journey. This performance, using tracks recorded individually by members of Saints & Singers on their phones whilst they were at home in isolation, celebrates the beauty and importance of our Australian rivers and waterways. We hope that you enjoy Riversong and we thank Mr Deacon for using his great audio and video editing skills to create this virtual choir performance.

The Brightest and Best Festival of Sacred Music is a bi-annual event organised by the Royal School of Church Music Australia (Qld Branch) and is performed in St Johns Cathedral. It is also a special opportunity to work with leading Australian choral conductors. The principal conductor for Brightest and Best 2020 is Mr Graeme Morton. Graeme is a Senior Lecturer in the University of Queenslands School of Music, Director of Music at St Johns Cathedral and former Director of Music at St Peters Lutheran College. He is also is one of Australias most eclectic choral musicians, with a wealth of experience as a conductor, teacher, composer and broadcaster of choral music. Graeme has received numerous awards including an award of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to the arts. In the concert, the combined school choirs will perform a wonderful range of sacred repertoire from across the ages. The audience will also have the opportunity to hear choral music performed by the choirs of St Johns Cathedral and a performance on the mighty St Johns pipe organ. Tickets for the concert will be available at the door - $20 adults/$15 concession. I hope you can join us for a lovely afternoon of choral music. Christine Taylor Co-Director of Music/Head of Choirs

It has been lovely to have Chorale family, friends and College alumni come to see us during our tour. On Tuesday 7th January we performed at the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London, held in St Stephen's Church, South Kensington, in a combined concert with Tiffin Chamber Choir. Our thanks to the organisers of the Festival for facilitating this concert.

06.01.2022 Choral ensembles at St Peters have continued, despite COVID-19 restriction, in a variety of ways during Term 2. For some choirs, this meant catch-up time on Zoom with their conductor and ensemble friends whilst they were at home throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and China. For Chorale, Zoom has allowed them to continue rehearsing together for their performance of John Rutter's "Gloria" in Term 3. Chorale was also have their camp at Edmund Park, L...aidley during Term 2. Rather than missing out on all of the positive community and musical opportunities of camp, Chorale had a great weekend as they took part in Chorale Camp Online. The Chorale met for short rehearsals in Zoom each afternoon. The sessions were certainly different aurally from a normal rehearsal but were very worthwhile in terms of music learning and also involved fun musical coordination activities. In the evenings, Chorale members took part in games nights led by the Year 12 s of Chorale. The Year 12s were challenged by the thought of running social activities online for 82 students but worked effectively together to create to two fun nights of games including Pictionary, Mafia and Trivial Pursuit. 2000s themed costuming also added to the sense of fun and occasion. Chorale Camp Online will certainly be remembered as a different way to have camp but a very special experience for all. Thank-you to Ms Morton and the Chorale Year 12s for their hard work and leadership. We hope that all choirs will be able to once more rehearse together at school in Term 3. Conductors will be in contact with their ensembles with further details during the holidays. Looking forward lots of wonderful choral singing in Term 3, Mrs Taylor
