24.01.2022 Hello Preschool Families hope you are all staying well and happy. We have two pieces of news to share with you all. Next week on Tuesday the 1st September and Wednesday the 2nd September we will be going through an assessment and rating visit. This means there will be an assessor present at the Preschool watching how we run our Preschool, looking at our interactions and the Program we provide. We are looking forward to showing the assessor everything about our Preschool ...that makes it so special. Our other news to share is that we recently received guidelines that specify we will not be able to proceed with an end of year concert. This is so disappointing for everyone involved as we know what a special celebration this is. We are particularly sad for the children who will be finishing Preschool this year before moving on, however we need to follow recommendations and keep everyone as safe as possible. This does NOT mean your child will miss out on a Graduation however. Staff are currently brainstorming some exciting ideas for how we can recognise this milestone individually for each child. We will keep you updated as we formalise our plans. Keep well Preschool families and thank you for your understanding and positivity towards our Preschool in the year that is 2020!!
24.01.2022 Hello Preschool families. Following are the latest updates for your information. You may have heard in the media that childcare is now free, relating to the ECE package. This is causing some confusion, as it does not apply to Community based, not for profit preschools. ... In response to the assistance from NSW Department of education, our Management Committee has developed some flexible options regarding fees and attendance next term which will be outlined in an email coming out today. Make sure you read this and provide us with your feedback as soon as possible to help us with planning. We are asking for each family to email Preschool a photo of our children and their Mum, as part of another little surprise next term. Thank you for the wonderful feedback on our video and the packs. It is very encouraging to all our staff to know you are feeling thought about and loved. Keep watching this space for more.
22.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what your Preschool teachers get up to when youre not at Preschool?
22.01.2022 This week we are celebrating our lovely Mrs Hurst! This week sees Mrs Hursts 10 year anniversary of working at St Peters Preschool. Thank you Mrs Hurst for your hard work and commitment to our Preschool.
21.01.2022 Hello Preschool Families We wanted to thank all of our lovely Preschool families for their continued support in keeping your Preschoolers home when they are unwell. By doing this we are able to keep the risk of spreading infections to a minimum, which is always important - but maybe especially more so currently. We also have some good news regarding fees. Earlier in the year our Preschool qualified for the JobKeeper payment, and as we receive this payment we were ineligibl...e for the free Preschool payment. However as long as JobKeeper continues to be paid our Preschool is in a sound position to waive fees for our families. This means that there will be no fees for Term 3 if this is maintained. At this stage normal fee payments will be reinstated Term 4. Our Preschool has also decided to keep the existing drop off/pick up routine (at the gate) in place for Term 3. Thank you for understanding why we need to continue in this manner for the immediate future. We do understand that this does impact the informal interactions and conversations that used to happen when children were picked up, and if you have any ideas on how to bridge this gap please let us know. As always if you have any questions, concerns or comments please call or email. Last day of Term will be Friday 3rd of July, with the first day back of Term 3 Monday 20th July. Stay Warm Preschool families

20.01.2022 Welcome back Preschool families. We have lots of excited and enthusiastic children walking in the door today. Please remember if you are feeling anxious about how your child is going we fully encourage you to call through at any time. We have attached some information regarding the Coronavirus and the Department of Education's recommended exclusion period. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter. https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//dise/Pages/coronavirus.aspx

15.01.2022 Hello families. At this stage we will remain open for the remainder of the school term until we receive any directive otherwise. Please read the email which is going out soon, outlining what we have in place to keep your children as safe as possible. We ask that if you or anyone in your family is even slightly unwell, stay at home. If you are feeling anxious about sending them, please consider keeping them at home if that is what you are doing with your other children. ... We will keep you updated. See more
15.01.2022 Oh no! Preschool is feeling so sad. We have had to postpone our excursion today. We didn't make this decision lightly as we know that everyone looks forward to these moments so much. Unfortunately we have so many staff unwell we weren't able to safely manage the amount of children attending, so we will postpone until everyone is feeling better. We are so sorry for the disappointment. This is a timely reminder though to please keep your children home if they are unwell, staff and other children are exposed to all manner of sickness from children who are too unwell to attend, but are sent to Preschool anyway. Please keep your children home if they unwell and if you are called to come and pick your child up please attend promptly.

Welcome to our new families, hope you are all settling in well. This Term will see some changes in what we would normally be doing at this time of the year. Order forms will be coming home over the next week, please look for them in your child's bag. There are a range of photo pack options and the purchase is optional. As Preschool has settled back into an almost normal routine, we have had the opportunity to upload our revised/updated policies and our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to the member only section of our website. This is to celebrate what we do well and areas we are looking to improve. You are most welcome to have a look. As always if you have any questions or comments please see Staff at any time

(We are not using this to fundraise, as we are only charging cost price) .

08.01.2022 Hello Preschool Families. In the holidays we received some very exciting news. We are bursting with pride as our beautiful Preschool was awarded the Exceeding rating in our latest Assessment and Rating visit. The Exceeding rating is very hard to achieve and it is a real accomplishment to be awarded this level of achievement. This means that we are above and beyond what is normally expected of an Early Childhood Service, and we couldn't be prouder We are taking this excitement into Term 4 with the children all excited and happy to be back at Preschool. This Term we are happy to announce there will, again, be no fees for the Term. If you have any questions please let staff know

Afternoon procedure: If we are outside, a staff member will bring your child to the gate, and the same procedure will occur: hand sanitise then sign out. If we are indoors, you will need to phone preschool to let us know you are at the gate and a staff member will bring your child to you. Thank you so much for your cooperation. See more

05.01.2022 Hello Families I am attaching the We Need your help information sheet which has been displayed in both rooms this week.... At this stage we have sadly made the decision to cancel our Teddy Bears Picnic which was scheduled for Week 10 as a result of our advice currently to limit social gatherings. As of the beginning of this week we have not been advised regarding closing before the school holidays, but this could change at any time. Please be assured that we will pass on any information to you as soon as it is received, but feel free to contact us at any time. It will help us if you let us know when and why your child is away over the coming weeks. This is a very challenging period in your familys life and it is understandable that you may feel some anxiety/concern about events as they unfold. Make sure you seek professional help if you are feeling overwhelmed: Beyond Blue Ph: 1300 224 636 / Lifeline Ph: 13 11 14. Your child needs to be assured that everything is OK for them and it is important that they are not included in conversations you may have with family and friends regarding these issues. 05.01.2022 All families will be receiving an emailed newsletter today that outlines how Preschool is handling the current health concerns regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). Below is a copy of our current plan. St Peters Preschool response to current information regarding the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). Our Preschool is constantly monitoring all information received from the NSW Department of Health and our governing body the NSW Department of Education. Each time we receive an update... we have added this to our Facebook page and answered any questions individually. We have ensured any family or staff member who has travelled through or from China, Iran, Republic of Korea or Italy or been in close contact with a confirmed case in the previous 14 days is excluded. In addition we require any family / staff who have transited through Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand or Singapore within the previous 14 days to self-isolate as they could also pose a moderate risk. All staff have been instructed that if they do not feel well they should not attend work at St Peters Preschool. Educators have been intentionally and consistently discussing and modelling hygiene procedures with the children, with the emphasis being on the following: Washing hands frequently with soap and water: o when coming indoors, o before and after we eat, o after we go to the toilet, o if we use a tissue. o we have demonstrated washing front and back of hands, between our fingers, our thumbs and wrists. Sneezing and coughing: o ALWAYS cough or sneeze into your elbow to prevent our germs from spreading to anyone else. Stay home if you are unwell We do not kiss our friends at Preschool (this is an ongoing discussion, but has been emphasised recently) In addition staff have increased the frequency of existing toy washing routines to further decrease the risk of spreading germs. As we approach the cooler weather there is often an increase in general colds and flu and recent events means the following is even more essential. IF YOUR CHILD BECOMES UNWELL, PLEASE KEEP THEM HOME FROM PRESCHOOL UNTIL THEY ARE COMPLETELY RECOVERED.
05.01.2022 What a busy morning we had at Preschool this morning. We had our visit from the Hon.
