23.01.2022 Teams formed & ready to go

23.01.2022 Happy time rock climbing and dodgem cars for STYG tonight. I love having a youth minister whose happy to both drive a fun bus full of exuberant youth and then also climb to great heights with them!

21.01.2022 Paul was welcomed into the Anglican Church by Bishop Genieve Blackwell and members and visitors of the Evening Youth Church Service.

21.01.2022 Registration for CMS SUMMER UNDER THE SON youth camp is now open. This is the highlight of each year so sign up now. Early bird registration costs $360 until end October, then $410. Speak to Rod Morris or Paul Mangohig if you're keen to go but don't think you're able to cover the cost, or if you're no longer young but able to help someone else get there. Register at www.summerundertheson.org/youth

21.01.2022 Some of the Maundy Thursday diners - and a photo from Nicola. Thanks Nicola

19.01.2022 This Sunday is planned to be our final zoom service as we look forward to gathering in person on Sunday 6th December at the new time of 10am. Please join us online on Sunday 29th as we mark the end of an extraordinary journey on zoom or the following Sunday, 6th December, as we begin our Christmas celebrations together.

18.01.2022 Next Sunday! Family Fun Day!

18.01.2022 Wonderful to celebrate BCA's Centenary this morning, with Bishop John Harrower preaching and then we all had an amazing morning tea afterwards!

17.01.2022 Having celebrated the death & resurrection of Christ, it's been great to enjoy lunch together as those saved by his death. Thanks James for your hospitality.

16.01.2022 From a shopping basket to plate. I love how much fun youth can have preparing food

15.01.2022 I had the joy of visiting st Stephen's newest member last night. A beautiful boy for Janet & Daniel, and a little brother for Gloria & Cherise. Congratulations. Please pray that he grows up to know and love Jesus like his parents & sisters. Name is yet to be confirmed- I suggested Rod as a decent option that's served me well, or Stephen after all his new family. Jordan or Joseph are the choices, so Jo is the shortened form of either.

15.01.2022 BCA President Bishop John Harrower was our special guest as we celebrated the Centenary of the Bush Church Aid Society. John is pictured here in conversation with Andrew Gifford (Chief Operations Officer of CMS Vic) and John Dyson (Church Warden of St Stephens Greythorn) during morning tea.

15.01.2022 All ready for a youth group master chef night. Feeling a little nervous about the sharp knives. My team is the 'obese geese' - we're even better than the fat duck. Thanks James Nixon for making it happen.

14.01.2022 We're starting a new program in 2018 for families with pre-school kids. Called 'Junior Jivers', it is basically a simple opportunity for kids to have fun and for the adults to enjoy some adult company and conversation. Planning is underway and we kick off on Feb 5th. Please tell those you know who may be interested.

13.01.2022 mainly music runs on Monday mornings at 10.00am at St Stephen's Greythorn, 1-5 Woodville St, Balwyn North. A fun time for preschool and toddlers, together with their parents and carers. New families always welcome. $5 per family per session.

11.01.2022 It is a huge privilege for St Stephens Greythorn to host a special service in Melbourne celebrating the centenary of BCA on the morning of the centenary. Former parishioners of St Stephens John and Gaylene Harrower will be there with John preaching. John is the President of BCA. Past Vicars of St Stephens who also served with BCA, Bob Collie and Murray Lamont, have been invited. Please join us to celebrate this great ministry if youre able.

11.01.2022 Great St. Stephen's Day service and lunch. Rev Dr Stuart Brooking (Overseas Council Australia) spoke to us this year. He shared a visual presentation, he spoke well, we enjoyed a lovely lunch and Stuart spoke at length, to some of the youth group.

11.01.2022 It was a great joy to hear Howard tell his faith story and then to witness his baptism on Sunday. A great start to the new year with Liz Hawthorne speaking of her ministry in Zambia and the congregation praying for our ministry in the year ahead

11.01.2022 Lovely to have Chris and Julie Dean at Church this morning and to hear Chris preach on Luke 24. It was then also lovely to share a meal with them today.

10.01.2022 We would like to wish Bernard a very Happy 95th Birthday, today! He doesn't read Facebook, but lots of others do!

09.01.2022 Anglican friends out there, St Stephen's is considering the formal adoption of the Jerusalem Declaration and we are interested in the actual wording of parish council motions from churches that have already done this. Please message or reply with the wording. Thanks

09.01.2022 mainly music at St Stephen's Greythorn, 1-5 Woodville St, North Balwyn runs on Monday morning at 10am. A fun time for toddlers and preschool children and their carers. New families always welcome. $5 per family per session.

09.01.2022 Does making yourself nauseous at Luna park with the youth qualify as suffering for the sake of the gospel? Or is it being all things to all people that some might be saved? Thanks Paul Mangohig!

07.01.2022 CEBS Camp site at Woori Yallock at the weekend. The little ones, meal-time, sing alongs

07.01.2022 Last Sunday evening, during the Youth Service, Paul Mangohig was commissioned, and prayed for, for his part time work with the youth of our Parish. Music, Youth Bible Study and Youth Service are his main areas of ministry with us!

07.01.2022 And the best thing about having a bishop visit is that it's a great opportunity for lunch together.

06.01.2022 Combined Carol and Readings Service followed by wonderful Morning Tea!

05.01.2022 As part of the baptism service, Howard shared his story.

05.01.2022 A revision of our logo by updating the message and making the cross more visible: The cross in the old logo looked a bit like palm trees, and the textual elements were also beginning to date. The name 'Stephen' means crown, so the imagery of the logo is the people gathered around the cross within the fellowship of the church.

05.01.2022 StYG (St Stephen's youth group) have participated in the Beautiful Feet challenge over this past weekend to support the ministry of the Church Missionary Society. Some walked or ran barefoot, others decorated their feet, and yet others decorated with their feet. Here is the artwork produced by Anneke, Amelie, Gloria and Cherise.

05.01.2022 Each year CEBS sponsors a day at Luna park for the kids in our youth group. It's a great blessing, and wonderful seeing them having a great time.

02.01.2022 Thanks to the board of Gafcon for their work on this. Please continue praying for the welfare of the church as we work out how to proclaim Christ within a culture that is increasingly shifting away from biblical norms and values.

02.01.2022 Congratulations to Paul & Anita Pallot on the birth of their daughter, Heidi Ruth Pallot. Born 13th October & Weighing in at 3.68kg. We pray that she grows up to know and love Jesus.
