Basketball Australia today announced the 14 referees who will officiate the 2020 Chemist Warehouse WNBL season. Through a partnership with the Queensland Government, the entire season will be played out of a North Queensland hub, and 45 referees who currently sit on the WNBL panel were approached by BA for expressions of intere...st to officiate the 2020 competition. We welcomed Ali Schwagmeyer, Nat Burton and Courtney Belger to our Blakehurst High court, and all our junior athletes all had an amazing time learning new skills, developing ones they already have, plus asking the players a lot of questions about life as a WNBL basketballer! 14.01.2022 THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS YOUTH LEAGUE Whilst the junior leagues were called off, the Basketball NSW Spalding Waratah Senior League did play on, with your Waratah Two Youth Men Red and White teams competing throughout a very unique season. Normally we have a big presentation night at the end of the rep season to celebrate all our teams, but given COVID restrictions still in place, a much smaller presentation ceremony was held today for the teams, their coaches and manager...s, as well as the amazing team who run our scoretable each home game. A big congratulations again to the Red Team for making the Grand Final and coming achingly close to the championship, congratulations to our award winners in each category, and thank you to the coaches, managers and staff who gave their time and energy to make sure that our teams could take the court safely. 12.01.2022 Basketball NSW have made the difficult decision to cancel the Waratah Metro Junior League season after one round, following tighter restrictions from the NSW Office of Sport regarding indoor sports. Whilst St George made the early decision to withdraw our junior teams, we do appreciate the effort BNSW and other Associations made to try to make the season work, especially in the face of ever-changing guidelines, uncertainty on timings and managing the needs of all participants. St George, and we're pretty sure all of basketball across Australia, look forward to 2021, with (hopefully) a full season.

Gentlemen, your final trials are invite only, and names have been posted on the website - so please head over and check if you've been asked to come back.... Ladies, we're looking forward to welcoming you all back for a shorter group trial tomorrow, with a combined session for the Under 12s, 14s and 16s, and a second session for our Under 18s. There is also a venue change for the ladies, with all sessions now being held at Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre, and not at Blakehurst High.
