19.01.2022 Today’s September Blooms competition Entry is by Anna Plumridge. Anna reflected, This image caught my eye because of the beautiful darks and lights in the purple lavender. The way that the lavender stood out from the rest of the garden with its beautiful depth, and happy and eye-catching colours instantly putting you in a good mood. Just like how a person with a happy personality stands out in a crowd, making everyone else feel better and brighter.

18.01.2022 It’s always an honour to recognise our region’s top secondary college students through our annual La Trobe University Infinity Awards, but even more so this yea...r. Our congratulations go to all the recipients of the 2020 awards; students who have demonstrated academic excellence, plus social and environmental responsibility through extracurricular activities. At St Joseph's College Echuca the recognition went to Year 12 student Lachlan Shelley, who excelled despite the pandemic challenges. "It was difficult studying every night after being at home learning all day felt so monotonous, although ultimately all that time was worth it, he says. I was incredibly lucky to have the unending support of my teachers which helped me cope with it all. Overall, despite all this, I completed VCE to the best of my ability and I have deeply enjoyed this year. Lachlan says receiving the La Trobe award was a highlight of a memorable year. It means so much to me, not only does this help me to attend university to pursue education as a career, but also means so much that my dedication toward further study is being recognised. It really has reinforced that the career pathway of education really is for me. My plans for 2021 are to pursue a bachelor degree in secondary education as well as continue with my passions, such as music and language. We wish you all the best Lachlan, congratulations!

14.01.2022 Parents, please find further details in your Ooperoo letter. In summary: As per the recent announcement by the Victorian Government we have made the decision to return all students to on-site learning from Monday 12 October and to operate the school as consistently as possible with the Victorian Government’s COVID-19 safety guidelines. This will, at this stage, include the wearing of masks. We will continue the staggered lunchtimes to assist with healthy distancing in the yard and all students will be expected to maintain as safe a distance as possible in classrooms. Hopefully, there will soon be an easing of some of the more onerous restrictions. As these details filter in they will be passed on as soon as possible.

03.01.2022 Over the past two weeks, our Year 10 and Year 8 Leaders and a group of Year 9 Justice volunteers, have organised a FOOD DRIVE & PANTRY RESTOCK for our friends at BASP in Melbourne. BASP is the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project and gives invaluable support to vulnerable newly arrived asylum seekers while they wait to attain refugee status. One of the many ways BASP gives support is by supplying asylum seeker individuals and families with basic pantry items. Unfortunately, curren...tly the pantry stocks are low! St Joseph’s College Justice Crew has offered to help rectify this problem and are undertaking a FOOD DRIVE to collect food and pantry items. Students and staff are being encouraged to bring in an item from the list supplied to us by BASP. Any items that you too can supply (please see the photos for the full list) can be brought into our front office and will be very much appreciated. All items collected will be boxed up on Wednesday Dec 2 and sent to BASP in Melbourne. Thankyou in advance for your very kind donations. #JUSTICE@SJE See more
