22.01.2022 If you're pumping it's important to have the right size flange (part that sits on the breast). Great article from an IBCLC with diagrams to show how your pump flange might look.

22.01.2022 Bonding with your bubba doesn't always happen straight away - and that's OK. This article discusses why this might happen and ways to get it back on track.

19.01.2022 Looking for mums to participate in research.. Have you given birth to your baby in the last 2 years? Are you interested in taking better care of yourself as a new mum? Would you like to share your experiences? The MotherCare Project is an initiative of researchers at The University of Queensland. We are currently researching how birth and breastfeeding experiences affect the mental health of new mothers, and discovering better ways to care for the psychological wellbeing of... mothers. We are seeking mothers aged 18+ who have given birth in the past 2 years to participate in our study. If you are interested in learning more or would like to participate in our study, please go to the MotherCare website here to participate: https://exp.psy.uq.edu.au/mothercare

16.01.2022 Baby not gaining weight well? The first thing to do is just fit in one extra breastfeed each day. Over a week this extra milk adds up. If you are already feeding 10-12 times a day and weigh gain is still slow, that's where I can help. http://revie.com.au/contact/

08.01.2022 Just a quick reminder that with hot weather, your bubba may want shorter more frequent feeding - respond to their cues. It's not a sign that your supply is low, just that their needs are changing.

07.01.2022 Getting breastfeeding off to a good start from birth is more likely when bathing is delayed - research released in January this year.

05.01.2022 Lots of parents needing support with evening fussiness and cluster feeding lately. It's normal, but frustrating, so here's some info from ABA which might help.

05.01.2022 Breastfeeding is amazing....

04.01.2022 Breastmilk - good for so many things

04.01.2022 Breastfeeding at night time - there are some benefits :)

04.01.2022 Many women consider taking products to boost milk supply. This review of studies is recent - the findings aren't. There's not enough research into so many of the options we choose as breastfeeding mothers. If you're concerned about milk supply, the evidence points to breastfeeding management as your first option. That's where I can help.

03.01.2022 Sleep - always a hot topic. BASIS is an awesome UK-based research and information site focusing on safe infant sleep, co-sleeping and bed sharing. One of their resources below

02.01.2022 I'm back from leave . This post to kick the year off.

01.01.2022 Most mums find that one breast is an over-achiever compared to the other :)

01.01.2022 More/recent evidence about early introduction of solids. VERY interesting... Those recommendations focus on a high-risk population infants with severe atopic dermatitis and/or egg allergy who are advised to introduce infant-safe forms of peanut as early as 4-6 months, in specified amounts, with consideration of pre-testing to rule out allergy. The guidelines recommend that infants with mild to moderate eczema be introduced to infant-safe peanut-containing foods as early as 6 months of age, and those without food allergy or risk factors do so when age appropriate and depending on family preferences, i.e., after 6 months of age if exclusively breastfeeding. Taken from research discussed here.. https://www.aappublications.org/news/2019/03/18/atopy031819
