20.01.2022 Following on from yesterday's post, this was to be Stomp Day at Eden Park. Damn you Coronavirus! So we're challenging you, our NZ Stompers to hit the stairs anyway. You seriously don't even need stairs! Use a box, use a stool, a couple of bricks with a plank of wood across the top - anything! - so long as we're still doing the right thing by lockdown rules, right? Do as many stairs as you dare and let us know how you went. Show us your stair count/ stairs climbed either in t...he below thread or by using #virtualstomp on instagram and we'll share your resilience with the rest of our Stomp Community and show them what New Zealand is made of! Let's get stomping, people! On a side note, no this isn't replacing your Stadium Stomp, we're still working on that reschedule date with Eden Park :)

19.01.2022 Holy moly! This is crazy!

06.01.2022 Stadium Stomp Eden Park 2020 update Firstly, apologies for the long radio silence. You’ve all been wonderfully patient and understanding and we are very grateful for this. For the past few months we have been working hard behind the scenes to try to find a replacement date for Stadium Stomp Eden Park but it hasn’t been an easy road.... Pre August, we were moving into COVID-19 recovery mode, plans were on track, we had a new date in place and we were about to share with you all when there was a re-emergence of the virus and subsequent restrictions followed. Unfortunately, we’ve had to go back to the drawing board (for about the 10th time) in terms of delivering Stadium Stomp. Whilst the change in alert levels are promising, and we are all hoping that they continue to do so for Auckland, there is still a great deal of uncertainty regarding events that bring people together such is ours at this time. Therefore, due to the ongoing public health concerns, challenges around venue availability for the remainder of 2020, combined with international border restrictions (we are Melbourne based) we are sorry to confirm that we cannot deliver a Stadium Stomp Eden Park event this year. So, we look towards a date in 2021. We recognise and share your disappointment but trust you understand the unique circumstances. Registered participants have been sent an email with more information or you can head to our news page on the website. We reassure you that our team, with the support of Eden Park and our charity partner Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand, are doing everything we can to ensure that you have the opportunity to take on the steps at Eden Park in the first part of 2021. Once again, we are truly grateful for all the kindness, patience and understanding that so many of you have provided over the last few months, so a big thanks from the Stadium Stomp team.

06.01.2022 So tomorrow was supposed to be Stomp Day :( We are saddened by this and that we can't be there with everyone enjoying a great morning of stomping in this magnificent Autumn weather. On a brighter side, since the virus outbreak and isolation mandates, people are finding creative ways to still achieve fitness goals - take the man who ran a marathon in his backyard the other day (google that!). ... So, if you're lucky enough to have a set of stairs at home or close by that you're allowed to use without breaking any laws :) , you could still stomp 5000 stairs tomorrow! Heck, you don't even have to climb 5000 stairs, just as many as you can and hashtag #virtualstomp on Instagram (don't forget to make it public), or simply post below showing us your stair climb! Honestly - whatever you can manage. We'd love to share with the rest of our community the New Zealand resilience during these tough times and how a bit of creativity can serve you well during lockdown. And if you're fundraising for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand, what better way to keep those dollars coming in than showing your mates that you're still committed to your goals, no matter the obstacle. Who's in?

05.01.2022 Well, hitting the stairs for a sweat session really does make you feel alive! Nothing like getting a good endorphin hit during times like these, hey? These are my local stairs - 66 stairs to the top. We'd love to see your local training stairs too! You can post a pic below or head to instagram ad tag us @stadiumstomp #missourstompers

02.01.2022 With restrictions beginning to ease and life starting to return to some form of normality, discussions around rescheduling our event have begun with the team at Eden Park. Whilst there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, there is still no clear date as to when large-scale events such as Stadium Stomp can again be held. Our teams will get together again in another month or so and hopefully we'll be better placed then to confirm a new date for the later months of 2020. Stay Safe New Zealand - you're leading the world :)
