Schools will be closed on these days. For some regional, rural and remote schools that finish the school year earlier, the student free days will be Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December. 04.01.2022 Do you know a Year 6 student who follows in Fred's footsteps by making a positive difference in their community? The The Fred Hollows Foundation is calling for ...nominations for the annual Fred Hollows Humanity Award, which recognises Year 6 students who demonstrate compassion, integrity and kindness towards others. Previous years nominees included a boy from the ACT who taught himself Auslan to communicate with a profoundly deaf classmate, a girl from Victoria who raised awareness and funds for refugees and a boy from Tasmania who provided ongoing support to a classmate with a serious medical condition. I encourage parents, teachers, principals and members of the Stafford community to nominate a child who is making a difference at www.hollows.org/fredhollowshumanityaward before Friday 11 September. 02.01.2022 Reminder - Schools are back tomorrow, and so are school zones. Remember to slow down and be on alert. Ensure you are following the 40km school zone speed limit. Its important that our students go to and leave school safely.

02.01.2022 Stafford State School has benefited from the Palaszczuk Governments record investment in school maintenance. Principal Lee recently showed me the refurbishment... of the Hearing Impaired Unit, which includes new fit-for-purpose teaching areas, office and facilities. There is also a new roof for the Undercover Area, and a covered walkway between the HIU and the School Hall. Every year, principals and condition assessors worked together to prioritise school maintenance projects for local schools. Our school maintenance program is not only building better schools in the area but also providing valuable jobs for tradies and training opportunities for apprentices.
