25.01.2022 To all of our beautiful students, again with a heavy heart we are forced in to lockdown as of tonight. We totally understand and respect why.... we need you all to be safe!!! Its hard for us all, as we were just getting back into our dance classes and learning again, feeling positive, smiling and enjoying our dance friends. I have to thank you all for being so respectful of all our new rules of hand sanitising and just being aware of our individual space. I also want to than...k everyone for their on going support, beautiful messages... they mean the world! We, in the next couple of days are making some decisions on where we are heading for term 3. As you can all imagine there are no clear answers and we only want what is best for you! So heres your chance to tell us what you want! I have to say ZOOM for dance is not an option... it was clearly very stressful for us and our students, although we were all very impressed with what you learnt.... so it wasnt a waist of time! Do we want a 6 week break? And if allowed we dance through January??? Remember we dont know what the future holds! Would you engage in filmed classes that you could learn from and then engage in a weekly meeting with all your dance class?? I am throwing this out to you guys... what sits comfortably with you??? We want to be there for you in whatever is going to work for you!!! We want to keep our connection with you, talk about how you are coping... you guys are our dance family and we love and care about you! Please let us know your thoughts, lets create a comfortable program that we can thrive in, something we can relate too, lose ourselves in , and just be connected in. 25.01.2022 Day 2.... welcoming back my beautiful Tuesday night Seniors.... lots of squealing ... by me!!! Lol..... was so good to see them in the flesh, rather than a screen! I was amazed at how much they had achieved on our weekly zoom classes, well done girls, youve done an amazing job!!!!! We had champagne to celebrate coming back home to our studio.... and also celebrated our beautiful Miss Monique who celebrated her 40th birthday whilst we were in lockdown. I am so happy.... I have my beautiful peeps back....they are my world!

23.01.2022 Hi my beautiful students..... I and your teachers hope you are all doing ok! Its been a really difficult time hasnt it, no dancing, no seeing our families & friends, No social gatherings, no birthday parties and the list goes on!!!! But we are getting closer to a little bit of normality we just have to keep following the rules. How exciting is it going to be when we are allowed back to our studio!!!! I cant wait!!!!... In the meantime, we have decided to do a couple of casual classes. As a lot of you have probably not done any exercise, this would be a great opportunity to get your fitness back on track, not to mention our dance brains! We will not be learning routines but will be teaching different dance combinations each week. So 5pm is an open age class Seniors $15. Intermediates $10 Fee to be transferred into SDDA account I will be taking this class 6pm is a Senior class only $15 with Miss Nikka & Brit Bookings on a weekly basis so we can send the link via Zoom These classes will be starting tomorrow -Monday...... we hope to see you there! 20.01.2022 Hello my beautiful dance family....,well what a week!!! No internet for me due to Telstra maintenance! All very well ... but it placed a lot of stress and anxiety for me, as I hate letting you guys down! Eventually I was able to pair my phone to my computer this morning for Pilates yay!! Then this afternoon, Zoom kept freezing etc...poor Miss Nikka had the same problem! Even the phone was no help ... So neither one of us was able to host..... all I can say is bring on Monday 22nd June when we can re-open! I will be sending you all an email next week to explain what will be put in place to ensure the safety of all entering our studio. Please check your junk mail if you cant find info I send. As I keep saying, I cant wait to resume our classes at our studio, not only to dance but also to embrace our connection with each other..... the chats, the laughs the love of dance and the creating! 1 week peeps....1 week!!!! 20.01.2022 Wooohoooo!!!!!!! We’ve finally got a date to re-open!!!! MONDAY 9th NOVEMBER!!!! Yay!!! I’m so excited to open our studio back up to welcome our beautiful students back!!! We have missed you all so much!!!... We can’t wait to re-connect and start creating again, to dance our hearts out and to have fun!!! It’s been awhile since we have had fun... it’s been a really tough time for all of us in very different ways but we are nearly there! We finally have something to look forward to! 19.01.2022 I would like to expose a situation. If your children dont learn with children with special needs at school and have never been taught that not everyone is equal, maybe you should spend 10 minutes tonight to explain it to them, because although they dont currently live with these children at school, they will find them in their lives for sure. In light of recent events regarding the exclusion of a child with autism from attending a school trip and a child with Down Syndrome ...being expelled from dance class because she couldnt keep up with it, I feel the need to share this. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthday parties. There are special children who want to be part of a team but are not selected because its more important to win than to include these children. Kids with special needs arent weird , they just want what everyone wants: to be accepted! Can I ask a question? Is there anyone willing to copy and paste this post on their wall without sharing it, like I did, for all the special children out there? 15.01.2022 What a week it has been for our industry. SA reneging on numbers, NSW have no return date and their Premier implies we are not qualified and in Victoria, confus...ion reigns in relation to the numbers allowed inside our studios. Meanwhile, kids are back at school with no social distancing requirements AND dancing at school! Strange times for us all.... Dance studio owners are strong, passionate and work hard because they love what they do. Performing arts education matters. It matters for so many reasons but mostly for the mental health and well-being of our young people. Our studios are more than "fitness centres" they are spaces for young people to grow and we are very much part of the village that helps raise them. Today Victorian dance studio owners are seeking clarity over the number of students allowed in class. The current guidelines are poorly worded and there is no reference to our industry specifically. We simply want our Premier Dan Andrews and the Dept. of Health and Human Services to provide some clarity. Any DSO friends feel free to share this press release with any media contacts. 07.01.2022 4 sleeps to go!!!! Yes we are re-opening!!! AGAIN!!! So grateful that we have survived lockdown.... just! If it wasn’t for my dedicated Pilates groups, we wouldn’t have survived!!! But here we are ready to smash out the next 6 weeks of term 4. All NEW routines, so starting from scratch... we thought it fair on everyone to start afresh. I don’t think any of us would remember our routines from Term 1 ... I certainly wouldn’t This means we can also take new enrolments to boost our numbers and it also gives new students an idea what to expect at Stage Door for 2021. I know we are all disappointed re our end of year concert but let’s work towards an end of year DVD at least we will have something to look back on. After our first lockdown I did mention if anyone wanted to choreograph their own routine, that this could also be added to the DVD... so when we go back to class register your interest and we will film at a later date! 07.01.2022 My beautiful friends.... as I mentioned last week I would like to come together as friends and fellow travellers of our beautiful planet. Unfortunately we are i...n turmoil at the moment not only with Covid 19 but with the unrest of racism again raising its ugly head! We, as people who share this planet have a responsibility in so many ways, some of us get it and some of us are still learning. I have been saddened but not surprised of the latest events, something had to give... we cant expect to continually live the way we are and succeed in growing this world with so much disrespect, so much hatred, so much entitlement..... what are we doing to positively grow as a community??? It got me thinking.... why cant we simply as a group of friends as a family or as fellow travellers sit together peacefully in our streets outside our home this coming Saturday 13th June @ 5pm ( known as Happy hour )!and pray for world PEACE, for RESPECT OF ALL OUR FELLOW TRAVELLERS no matter what colour or culture! .... we all bleed the same! Pray that we can SAVE our PLANET... we all know many hands make light work! With us all doing this one gesture, we will send out to the Universe a beautiful vibration of LOVE, HEALING & UNITY. I hope you are all doing ok I know for a lot of us this time has been a lot harder especially as we went back to the studio for 2.5 wonderful weeks! I have learnt in this time to just accept what it is, none of us now what our future holds so I am living day by day trying to be positive. Some days are better than others..... if I have one of those days where I just dont feel like doing anything I dont!!! And I dont let mys...elf feel guilty! We have to be kind to ourselves and to those who are living with us. We cant change what is happening we can only do what we are being asked to do and hopefully numbers will come down enough for us to have more freedom. How grateful will we all be to return to all that we love.... our families, our friends, our jobs, our hobbies and for us.... our studio & dance. I cant wait to see you all, to create and to continue what we all love. In the meantime.....take care of yourselves and your loved ones and know that I am always thinking of you and missing you! 03.01.2022 Well its done!!! Zoom has ceased !!! Never again!!! Whilst Miss Nikka and I had strong internet connections and feeling quite smug for our last session.... our poor students were the victims tonight.... black screens, no sound, no connection on their side, crackled sound!!! We were both trying to help them.... and then it happened!!! Our voices started to crackle even tho we both had strong internet connections.... so what did we do? We both went into hysterical laughter!!!!... And then frantically messaging each other but laughing at the same time!!!! We shut down & Nikka took over hosting, I was to join her class and Zoom deciddd not to let me in! How rude!!!......I must admit it was a GOOD RELEASE!!!! Just want to Thank Miss Nikka for her amazing support throughout all this, we have walked side by side with determination to give our students connection and dance..... but we are so looking forward to open our studio doors to our precious dance family! I have sent emails today with important info! I have also some sad news but some great news. Unfortunately Miss NICOLE is unable to continue 3rd term.... work has been a huge load for her and very stressful and her father has also been unwell. We will be sad not to have her on our team but we understand her decision and wish her only love and best wishes. Now for the great news..... Miss Jordan is back! Miss Jordan will take over Miss Nicoles classes as of Monday 22nd July. For those of you who dont know Miss Jordan, she is my niece who started her dance career with me when she was 18mths old! She did her teacher training and started teaching at quite a young age teaching up until 3yrs ago when she left to start travelling with her partner and settling in England. Due to Covid she has come home. On Miss Nicoles decision to leave, my first thought was to offer Miss Jordan the vacancy and she accepted! Im sure those students who have danced under Miss Jordan will be delighted! Welcome back Miss Jordan We will also welcome Sarah Power who will take over our Junior classes. Sarah has danced most of her life and had had a vast amount of experience in dance, and is a teacher in drama and dance at a secondary college in Melbourne. She is also dancing in one of our Senior classes. We welcome her also to our team! To all the parents/students whom have sent so many encouraging messages and emails...THANKYOU SO MUCH for your encouragement!
