22.01.2022 Fun and sunshine and rainbows by Up Down Planks and Sit Throughs! (Ahem, or death. Whichever way you prefer to look at it ) Just some space and a timer. If you need to scale the sit throughs, just swing your knees through and keep both hands and feet on the ground. Scale the up down planks? Go from your knees and/or raise your hands up on a coffee table or table... 1st minute: 1 of each exercise on each side 2nd minute: 2 of each exercise on each exercise 3rd minute: etc etc And keep going until you cant get the work done in the minute timeframe. 21.01.2022 Tonights workout! 5, 7 or 9 rounds (choose your poison!) youll need a kettlebell, a green bag, loaded backpack etc. Think 10-20kg. 20 Hard style swings... 20 Clockwork swings 20 American swings 20 Halos Make it harder or easier by increasing/decreasing weight or by tweaking the numbers in each round. 21.01.2022 Ahem, Im not sure who ticked Matt off today, but both of tonights workouts are ... fun? Get this one done sometime over the weekend ladies and gents! New warm up coming in the next few days The workout: 100 reps of clean and press with a moderately heavy object. Preferably between 20 and 30 kg. If youre going lighter than that then either do 150 or 200 reps.... Each 60 seconds you must stop doing your lifts and perform 5 burpees before you continue. Every month we introduce our Stage 6 Tribe to a new warm up with a whole range of different movements designed to mobilise and strengthen the whole body. Theyre complex for a reason. Youve got a whole month to improve them! These warm ups are as nutritious for your body as you want to make them - if you just race through them, you wont get the full benefit, but if you take your time and really focus on ironing out the kinks and per...fecting the techniques, youll get a whole lotta bang for your buck. Perform each couplet twice, back to back A) Cat Squats x 10 A) Deep Squat 360 Rotations x 10 B) Posterior Chain Front Folds x 5 B) Superman Floor Hold x 30 seconds C) Xiao Pengs x 10 C) Spaghetti Arms x 20 D) Elbow Pull Ups x 20 D) Push Ups x 10 Crawls (Perform 10ish metres of each) Ostrich Lateral Chimp Chameleon.... 20.01.2022 A skill / prehab /rehab style session for you this evening everybody. More about refining the movements, ironing out any kinks and doing it well. The slower the better! Youll need two light weights (approx 1-5kg) or a light resistance band + a balance option. Can be a line in your tiles or choose a floorboard to stick on - just something to help hone your precision with the tripod transitions. 5 rounds total... 19.01.2022 Almost 6 years ago to the day, we opened the doors to Stage 6 (swipe right to see those two fledgling, fresh faced and oh-so-naive small business owners ). And here we are, with slightly more baggage in tow (a toddler, a dog and another bub about to make their appearance), packing up the memories and getting ready to close down at the end of this week. Damn, its been a wild ride. Were so grateful to all the souls who have darkened our door over the years. We hope that wev...e taught our clients a thing or two about themselves and what theyre capable of; rest assured that this journey and the people weve met along the way have taught us a whole lot about ourselves and what were capable of. Its the end of an era for us, and were sad to say goodbye to the place and the community weve pretty much called home for the last six years. This was our first real business venture and while we worked a lot, stressed a lot and made a bucket tonne of mistakes, we couldnt have asked for a better bunch of people to meet along the way. We always wanted Stage 6 to be a community first and foremost - and in that we feel we truly succeeded. Were very excited for our next chapter, but there are so many things about Stage 6 that well miss. The coffees, the chats, the laughs, the Friday night beers, the Christmas parties, the camping trips, the games nights, the BJJ gradings, Esme and Mo running around the gym and getting loved and looked after by everyone, people learning that they can when they thought they couldnt - all of these memories will stay with us for life. 13.01.2022 A variation on a workout that pops up every couple of months at Stage 6. We know how much you guys and gals all love crawling :P Choose your level - 3 / 5 / 7 x 3min rounds 1 min rest in between rounds Lion crawl... Crab crawl Chimp crawl You are to attempt to move for 3 minutes straight only using those 3 crawls. Each time you stop or have to rest, perform 5 sprawls and then get back into the crawling. 13.01.2022 When youre saying goodbye to the big, custom climbing frame that was designed and fabricated by Matt, his dad and his uncle, was one of the central pieces of the Stage 6 playground, and a piece that saw so many first pull ups, first monkey bars, first laches, first 2m depth jumps, helped people conquer some fears of heights and was also responsible for the odd blister/callous or two.... and just before it drives out the driveway to go to its new home, Matt points out the MR 4 AC that had been tagged into one of the top corners waaaay back when we opened...
