22.01.2022 A lot of clients ask me how much stuff to remove from their home when preparing to sell? People assume that they should take everything out, and keep it as a minimal, bare shell. Wow, that sounds so homely . Dont take the personality out of your home!!!! People fall in love with a personality. They dont fall in love with beige. Trust me. Beige is boring. OK yes, its a good idea to take out PERSONAL items, such as family photographs..., religious items, sports memorabilia (which are NEVER attractive anyway #notteamsports). But leave the PERSONALITY behind. Dont make your home look like every other home out there. Make it look like your perfect buyers home. And they will thank you (AND PAY YOU) for providing them with their perfect house. It only takes one buyer (although preferably youd have two ). See more

20.01.2022 We packed up this beauty today. It was an incredible case study for styling. The difference between the valuation prior to styling and the final sold price? AT LEAST $40k. With no other work completed. Not bad for an apartment in the $300ks!!!! Thats a return on investment of at least 20 times their styling investment. And the best part? This is not an unusual outcome!!! We have dozens of these case studies from the last few months alone. Styling sells!

17.01.2022 When I first walked into this property it had dark brown cabinets and an old floral couch in it. So we pulled out the furniture (well most of it, the sofa wouldnt fit out the door, but thats another story ), and brought in some beautiful light art and real plants. Et voila! The dark bricks become a feature, not a failure. All unique architectural details are good- sometimes they just need the right pieces to make them POP!!! #bricksrule

13.01.2022 We are home from an incredible mini-break in Kangaroo Valley! Not a bad place to unwind ahead of the busy spring season. We watched Platypus swim from the living room, sat by the fire and I drank wine while getting work done. Lifes tough . Lets not discuss the trip home... ... Maintain the zen!!!

13.01.2022 I just think we all need to talk about todays sun. I mean, it was NEXT level. It raises the spirits (and lets be honest- the sweaty pits. Ok were being very truthful here #movingfurnitureissweatywork). Anyway, where was I? Ah yes, enjoying the sun. It was good. Sunny. Spring-like, even. BUT this is Canberra, so we all know we have another month at least until we can relax and move our pot plants back outside.

12.01.2022 I took the day (mostly) off work today for pretty much the first time since July... why you may ask??? Because I’m a MASSIVE nerd and wanted to watch the US election. I wanted to sit on the couch all day and watch the ABC and get excited about Trump losing. Well, part of it hasn’t gone to plan, but at least I got to sit on the couch (doing quotes and folding washing), watch Antony Green and yell at the TV. Bliss!!! Fingers crossed for some better news tomorrow.... ... Anyone else a massive election nerd???

12.01.2022 We LOVE it when we get to style a home that has some unique personality! These are the ones that people walk away from with a big ol smile on their dials. What a beauty this home in Duffy was- full of colour and personality (just like her owner!). This green is a very polarising choice- so the best way to deal with it? Embrace it, baby! Pink and green are made for each other- they *almost* clash, but instead make each other SING. I would get all scientifi...c and colour-charty on you- but really all you need to know is that sometimes, opposites attract. Just like every good relationship. And green and teal should definitely be seen without colours in between. Break the rules baby. But only when you KNOW the rules in the first place. And guess what? We know alll the rules. Which is why we can break them . AND BOY DO WE BREAK THEM. See more

10.01.2022 I often tell clients that a kids room is the most important room in the house when selling! Why??? Because if a kid LOVES a house, then they are the biggest cheerleader for it. Dont we do anything to make our kids happy??? So you may think the smaller rooms are just fillers- but I totally disagree. We also include a play area in family properties we style- to distract the kids while the adults have a good look around. A positive experience for everyone = a much better outcome

07.01.2022 I felt a little bit of Spring in the air today- how about you? A welcome relief after a snowy weekend! We love using cuttings from the garden in our vignettes. And this time of year is the best because we can use BLOSOMS. Blossoms are the best, they make any vase look glorious, pretty and architectural .

07.01.2022 Yesterday I was on ABC radio giving advice about how to decorate your Christmas Tree (which is slightly ironic, looking at my past Christmas trees ), although to be fair, I do know what they’re SUPPOSED to look like. It’s first up on Afternoons with Paula . A pic of my pink vomit tree in the comments- with our big boy Kip standing guard (as well as a fair few decorations that he has recently removed from the tree).

05.01.2022 Architectural features, like these gorgeous raked ceilings, are such a fantastic thing to highlight when youre selling your home. Think about using art and light fittings to draw the eye. Using like colours to frame the space is also a great idea. In this shot weve used the greenery of the plant, with the chairs and the art to provide good framing (using rule of thirds for all you photography nerds out there ).... Draw the eye where you want it to go with clever styling . Did someone say magic??? #stagingsells #morethanjustaprettyface

05.01.2022 Sometimes we are working with dark corners, or freeeeezing houses- places where live plants just wont survive. So we use som lovely faux beauties to add a pop of green. I always prefer live plants- but these arent far behind #greenhouse

04.01.2022 Today I did a style by myself for the first time in aggggggeeees. It was actually really fun! Of course I missed my girls (best team eva), but I got to choose the music, dance like no one was watching (cause they werent!) and was out of there in no time at all!!! But tomorrow- theres a WHOLE team of us- so that will be fun too!!!

Also expected are storage pron posts, maybe some skateboarding/bike riding/pillow room jumping excitement posts. (Or tbh its more likely to just be posts about how busy everything is, and oooo- look at this pretty bedroom- oh were having a big week- blah blah blah. I apologise in advance). Anyway, new warehouse, yay! Its in Fyshwick, boo. But at least were close to the shops. And the brothels. And Flute!!!!
