08.01.2022 Hi all, Like so many in our industry, our business has been decimated by the COVID-19 tragedy. We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, generosity and offers of support that we have received to date, so a massive thank you to you all for reaching out! This is a very difficult time for everyone. For us the government assistance and minimal relief offered from trade creditors is unlikely to save us. We need to future-proof ourselves by finding ways to provi...de you with the service you’ve come to love and enjoy over our 38 years, in a way that makes sense in the current environment. We need your help to do this! What we’d like to know is how can we re-purpose our products and services to fit your current needs, whilst still remaining compliant with social distancing and other virus reducing recommendations? Is it through: storage? solo/duo rehearsals / recordings? permanent hire for midi suites? sound proof office use? Host a live steam gig? (all the cool kids are doing it!) We also have our van and a whole lot of energy, so let us know if we can assist with supply of: PA systems or backline accessories (strings, sticks, cables, gaff, stands etc) Amps, kits, PAs to entertain the neighbours anything else you would normally turn to us to supply. We can get it to you fast contactless delivery of course! What we do know is that music is something that we all need to keep within our lives during this tough time. It’s what we all do. We just have to find new ways to make it happen. For those at home, especially those of you doing it tough right now, let us help you to remain connected with your passion. 07.01.2022 What’s on my mind? Oh nothing. I don’t know if the audience side really understands how dire the situation is for millions of hard-working professionals. Bro...adway is closed until 2021. Cirque du Soleil is filing for bankruptcy, and cut 3500+ jobs. Feld Entertainment laid off 90% of its workforce permanently. Live Nation had to lay off a significant amount of employees. Cruise ship entertainers are out of work. Theme park productions have no idea when they will be recalled. There are no concerts, festivals or touring productions scheduled until 2021 and if they don’t happen next year, they may never happen again. No Jazz Fest, no Coachella, no Bonnaroo, no EDC, no ROLLING STONES FINAL TOUR(S), and no SYMPHONIES....all gone. It’s being predicted that 90% of independent music venues may close, the longer this continues. No more Whiskey-a-gogo, no more Tipitina’s, no more Red Rocks, all gone. Entertainment Management, Publicity, Live events coordinator, Performing arts organizations of all kinds- choirs, theatres, orchestras, dance companies- all are trying to figure out on a daily basis how to keep going and employ anyone they can in the field. More than 12,000,000 people work entertainment production in the US and produce revenue in the multi billions of dollars, we are not insignificant and this industry cannot reopen until mass gatherings can happen again. This doesn’t include the additional layoff of venue management and bar staff, security and thousands of vendors. Also, we can’t forget about the hundreds of thousands of performers and entertainers that make our careers possible, without them, there is no show. So when you see your entertainment friends begging you to wear masks and stay home, understand that we are helplessly watching our industry crumble before our eyes because the country is doing so poorly at reducing the spread. This IS personal for us, our entire livelihood is dependent on social gathering and we will not accept being labeled nonessential. Music and art are critical to a cheerful, balanced society. Everyone’s career and the whole industry is indefinitely on hold. PLEASE wear your mask (over your mouth AND your nose) and wash your hands. 05.01.2022 COVID-19 Here at Stage Door it’s business as usual, however, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 we are: Placing hand sanitiser stations around for customers and staff ... Disinfecting all surfaces and equipment regularly including all doors, stands and microphones between sessions Consistently and regularly communicating to customers and staff about maintaining safe hygiene Advising any staff that are unwell or are showing any symptoms to stay home and they are unable to return until symptoms subside or tests are completed per government guidelines Working with contractors to ensure they follow our standard hygiene procedures With the situation continuing to evolve daily it is only natural to feel the need to retreat and stop doing the things we love. That said, it is important to continue to go out and support local businesses whilst it is considered safe to do so. Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to continuing to serve you.
