24.01.2022 Look what we found in the paddock this evening after Dom’s exhibition - black boy, white girl from our lovely young doe named Crema. Here is Farmer Dom leading her up to the shed to keep the babies safely tucked away from foxes and eagles for the next 7 days. After that they are safe to roam around the paddocks. They are drinking from the teat like mad, healthy little goatlings

21.01.2022 Perfect goat curd from Big Black Lizzie, the boss of our herd! Goats cheese ready by tomorrow morning... Lizzie’s beautiful buckling Stripe (pictured here when he was much younger) drank from her teats for 4 months and he is looking super shiny and healthy because her milk is so full of goodness. Now we’ll have a chance to enjoy some yoghurt and cheese until her milk runs dry. Thanks to @buenavistafarm for the emergency vegetarian rennet donation! @ Stag Hill

15.01.2022 Just hatched! 7 chicks and 2 more pipped so likely 9 of 12 (75% hatch rate) These are mixed chicks from green easter eggers and Marans mothers, with Araucana and Speckled Sussex fathers, so hopefully interesting feathering and egg colours. We love raising chicks and watching our happy chooks peck all over our huge lawns, their social quirks are mesmerising and their poop is amazingly nutritious for our fruit trees and veg beds. Plus beautiful rainbow eggs of course

09.01.2022 Why learning to breathe properly has profound health benefits. We teach all this in our yoga classes!

02.01.2022 Cleaning up just after her birth yesterday, our favourite doe 150 finally popped out her little boy - 5 days late! Had us all a bit tense. But the kid is strong, friendly and taken to the teat all by himself. This will likely be 150’s last kidding as she’s getting on in years - we originally rescued her from the RSPCA and she is the sweetest, friendliest goat. Despite officially naming her Selma, her original herd number stuck so now she is affectionately known as Onefitty. Now for naming the kidlet...
