24.01.2022 Hi parents and friends of Holiday Club, we have to share the sad news that as of yesterday afternoon, all St Aidan's activities have been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus, including our Friday and Sunday kids and youth activities. While we're incredibly sad about this, it's the best decision for the safety of your children and the wider community right now. It won't be forever though, and we hope to see you and your kids again when life returns to normal! 23.01.2022 Day 4...Praise God for the rain! Rain meant all the children commenced the day inside, where they made some very impressive spy paper planes. Sophie and her team of high energy dancers led the children through another great morning of singing and dance. It was really encouraging to see so many of the children getting involved. As has been the case throughout the week at the Inventory stalls the 00Delicious chocolate truffle bombs and walkie talkie brownies were a real hit wi...th the children. One of today’s missions required the children to put their trust in their fellow Agents in order to safely negotiate their way blindfolded through an intricate maze of obstacles. Food, courtesy of Special Agents Julie Paton and Amy Chow along with their faithful team of helpers was once again a real winner with all of the children. Thanks to a quick service check the coffee machine was back up and running and lots of great conversations were shared at the Parent Café as Special Agent Liam turned barrister and churned out some very impressive espressos. A very intense moment in the Drama today saw Agent J killed by Ananias and Caiaphas. But just when everything seemed lost there was an unexpected twist. The computer system started to reboot itself. Charlie’s angels were having a hard time understanding why this was happening because to the best of their knowledge the computer system was not able to function without Agent J. The children were left wondering how could this be. Stay tuned tomorrow to find out what happens next. Attention all parents and carers of Holiday Club children. 22.01.2022 Day 2 and holiday club has been really pumping! 69 children and lots of fun had. Today we saw a twist with Agent J (Jesus) being betrayed by one of his agents (Judas). A big shout out to Sophie and all of the dance team, who today taught the children memory verse (1 Peter 1:3-4). Our mission (game - hockey) today was for the children to stop the explosion from blowing Riley up! It was great to see all the children engaged in this mission. We finished the day with year 4 bea...ting the bomb and playing egg roulette - the unfortunate volunteers were the Benny brothers (Ben Estell and Ben Green). 18.01.2022 Day 3 we had a huge 71 children!! We began the day making spy glasses to help the children go undercover for their special mission. We had agent training where the children completed an obstacle - all the children passed with flying colours! At the 00Delicious inventory stall, one year 2 agent said to a special agent leader "do you have the recipe for those chocolate things", special agent "you meant the chocoloate bombs?", year 2 agent "yeah they taste great, here try som...eone... it tastes better if you have more!". In the unfolding story with agent J, today we saw Agent Judas betraying Agent J (Jesus) and Agent Peter denying being a follower of Agent J. More to come with Agent J tomorrow. The children continue to ask interesting questions in our small group time. We would appreciate your prayers for them. 15.01.2022 Day 5 (the final day)!!! What an AWESOME week it has been! SO good to see so many children comign back each day with big smiles on their faces. It was encouraging to see lots of children eager to recite the memory verse and participant in an agent rap battle! The final conclusion to our drama saw Agent J rising back to life and deating Legion and his army. A great reminder to us that Jesus is alive and has defeated sin and death!!... The second half of our day involved Agent Field Training, a series of activities including sponge throwing, nerf target practice, obstacles courses and guessing the identity of the Holiday Club leader from some old photos. We finished the week with lunch (nachos) lunch together, great to see parents join in! We are so thankful to God for the way that He has worked in the children's lives as well as our known this week. 06.01.2022 Day 1 of St Aidan's Kids Holiday Club - such an awesome start! So exciting to see 60+ children with us. Some highlights of today: - Our inventory (craft stalls) really took off with some yummy edible Walkie Talkies & created secret code messages with invisible ink - Brilliant secret agent dancing... - And the real highlight was our drama where Agent J (Jesus) started his agent mission sent by Charlie (God).
