24.01.2022 We know it's not perfect, but it's not the worst and it will improve. It's still a great way to stay generally aware of events during fire season.

24.01.2022 Hot, dry and windy weather is increasing the fire danger in parts of NSW tomorrow. A total fire ban will be in force on Monday 23 November for the Far North Coast and North Western Fire areas. Review your bush fire survival plan and know what you will do if threatened by fire.

23.01.2022 North Head Fire: NSW RFS firefighters last night were able to assist FRNSW and NPWS in holding the fire south along the North Head Scenic Drive and link it up w...ith a previously hazard reduced area near the ‘Hole in the Wall’ trail. National Parks and Wildlife crews will continue to patrol the area across the day. There were no threats to homes and there has been no reported injuries. Light rain has fallen across the fireground and while there is some smoke rising from the area fire activity today is expected to be minimal. Photo Shannon Mason NSW RFS See more

17.01.2022 You know the alert levels of Advice, Watch and Act, and Emergency Warning. The way these are displayed on our website and Fires Near Me NSW smartphone app is c...hanging. Soon you’ll see these new icons. It’s part of the new Australian Warning System, to help you receive consistent information in emergencies no matter where you live, work or travel. While the icons may look different, what they mean doesn't change - you should check for information about what to do to protect you and your family. Keep an eye out for the new icons later this week. Check https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//gen/australian-warnings-system for info.
