24.01.2022 Check out our Year 2s incredible artworks inspired by the beautiful 2020 shortlisted picture book, ‘Baby Business’ by Jasmine Seymour. Thank you Mrs Spanevello for this fabulous display again linking back to our school motto this year, Bee the Change.

There was also a stream of students attending their Musicorp Australia instrumental lessons throughout the day. To top it all off, the lucky 5s and 6s who signed up to SWEAT, enjoyed an afternoon of fun and fitness with Bec as she put the students through their paces! What a day!

11.01.2022 This morning hosted the first of many special events this week, as St A’s shared in its inaugural Traditions Assembly. It celebrated the culmination of 7 years of Primary schooling and the tradition of our Year 6 students wearing the secondary school uniform of the school they will attend next year. Our seniors reflected on their education journey so far and were honoured with words of wisdom from two of our past students, James Clarke, 2020 School Captain of Marist College Ashgrove and Arwen Dias-Jayasinha, 2020 Head Girl at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. It was also wonderful to have a number of the Year 12 graduating class of 2020 in attendance. We are so grateful to still have these ties with our past students and hope our current Year 6 graduates will continue this relationship with St A’s for many years to come!
11.01.2022 What a treat for our students today when award-winning author, Michael Gerard Bauer entertained each of our grades with storytelling and anecdotes from his writings. The students were completely engaged by Michael’s vibrant and interactive presentations. Some were even lucky enough to get a sneak peek at some of Michael’s future projects. Thank you so much Michael and we can’t wait to read more of your upcoming stories!
11.01.2022 It’s been a busy few weeks in PE building up to our athletics events. Good luck to all our competitions for their Athletics Carnival events taking place during class time.
11.01.2022 The Year 3s were treated to a wonderful incursion today by Street Science. Linking with their Science unit, they each took on the role of junior scientist, conducting chemical reactions to transform heat into energy and testing the conductivity of materials. A blast was certainly had by all! Thanks Dr Sharon!
08.01.2022 To help commemorate our Year 6s Primary School journey, today they were joined by some St Ambrose’s past students who graduated Year 12 in 2020. Two of these leaders were James Clarke, School Captain of Marist College Ashgrove and Arwen Dias-Jayasinha, Head Girl at Brisbane Girls Grammar School who imparted some words of wisdom to our leaders during their Traditions Assembly. The past students then took a tour of the school, taking in the changes over the last few years, spotting places they made their mark and catching up with some of their past teachers. It was a wonderful experience for all students and one they will hold dear for many years to come!
07.01.2022 Reminder that Dance Troupe starts tomorrow! All movers and shakers welcome!
07.01.2022 As we celebrate Queensland Road Safety Week we take this opportunity to thank our local council and government for installing the 40km speed zone around our school earlier this year! 03.01.2022 It was ‘Curious Creatures’ colouring craziness in the library this week as the children took part in the Book Week colouring competition. So much enjoyment had by all our little artists!
01.01.2022 Did you know what happens to our library books when they have been weeded from our St Ambrose’s shelves? They are given a second life to be appreciated by students in Papua New Guinea. Every few years the Library needs to be culled or weeded of damaged or unwanted books. This year we have given our excess books to the PNG Books 4 Kids to be enjoyed by students in Papua New Guinea Schools. These photos are from a recent container that contained our books that was transported... over to Madang to be distributed to numerous different schools. Thanks Mrs Spanevello for making a difference in these children’s lives by sharing our love of books!
