23.01.2022 Emmanuel College final day and Graduation #MakingADifference

22.01.2022 From Colin Payne year 12 coordinator Warrnambool College This is how I felt today as my 170 plus Year 12 students left school again today at 3.25. I am well known for hugs and this year is the hardest yet, as we all need this more than ever. Warrnambool College Year 12 Class of 2020, we are far from done yet!... If there’s a Year 12 student in your life, give them a hug and pray for them. To them, the cancellation of school is not a vacation. It’s time they don’t get to spend with their friends the last few months before they graduate. They’re anxious, realizing they may never be able to walk the halls for the last time, play their final sports season, have a proper valedictory, turn university applications in or attend their formal. They are sad they may never take the stage or the field for their games, or theatre/music productions. They’re nervous that they may not get to write their final exams and not receive that certificate they have been working hard on for 12 years. They are scared that Tuesday March 23, 2020 may have been the last REAL day of their senior year with so many things left undone. Show them support and love them during these hard times. #classof2020 They came into this world in the days following 9/11 and they are graduating high school during a pandemic. They’ll be our strongest generation yet. If you are the parent of a 2020 student, copy and post on your wall!

13.01.2022 Below is a message from one of our former students and to say I am so proud of this young lady is an understatement. This is what our Standing Tall Program is all about giving kids hope, encouragement, support and guidance Hey Matty, hope you’re well. I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for everything you did for me while I was in standing tall and even beyond me finishing the program. It was looking doubtful whether I would even make it to year 12 but I’ve now officially finished school with my last exam complete and I’m also leaving with an early offer into uni. There’s no doubt in knowing I wouldn’t have made it without people like you so thank you so much!

10.01.2022 If you are feeling a little overwhelmed why not give the person who makes you smile a call tonight? Who knows they might be feeling the same way and small actions can make a big difference in someones life. #inthisTOGETHER #spreadonlykindness

09.01.2022 It occurred to Pooh and Piglet that they hadn't heard from Eeyore for several days, so they put on their hats and coats and trotted across the Hundred Acre Wood... to Eeyore's house. Inside the house was Eeyore. "Hello Eeyore," said Pooh. "Hello Pooh. Hello Piglet" said Eeyore, in a glum sounding voice. "We just thought we'd check on you," said Piglet, "because we hadn't heard from you, and so we wanted to know if you were okay." Eeyore was silent for a moment. "Am I okay?" he asked, eventually. "Well, I don't know, to be honest. Are any of us really okay? That's what I ask myself. All I can tell you, Pooh and Piglet, is that right now I feel really rather sad, and alone, and not much fun to be around at all. Which is why I haven't bothered you. Because you wouldn't want to waste your time with someone who is sad, and alone, and not much fun to be around at all, would you now." Pooh looked and Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh, and they both sat down, one on either side of Eeyore in his stick house. Eeyore looked at them in surprise. "What are you doing?" "We're sitting here with you," said Pooh, "because we are your friends. And true friends don't care if someone is feeling sad, or alone, or not much fun to be around at all. True friends are there for you anyway. And so here we are." "Oh," said Eeyore. "Oh." And the three of them sat there in silence, and while Pooh and Piglet said nothing at all; somehow, almost imperceptibly, Eeyore started to feel a very tiny little bit better. Because Pooh and Piglet were there. No more; no less.
