Novice, advanced, ASM/W and freakshow, it's going to be wild! If you are competing, check the Facebook event for final competitor list tonight, and then a list of athletes who HAVNT paid. If you are on that list, you have until Sunday to not be on that list, or you will not have a Hawaiian shirt (and all the extras you dont know about yet) ordered for you. 21.01.2022 As Vic gets closer to some level of normality (not there yet), we are starting to put the pieces into place once more for #compound_carnage As the deadlift event comprises a max, rising bar style SDDL, we are throwing all profits from the sales of our simulators into the prize pool, and back dating it to when we launched the comp! 20.01.2022 The Strongman specific chain yoke - the chain yoke was the very first product we made about 7-8 years ago, taking inspiration from the rice farmers of Asia, it was a cost and space effective alternative to the full size frame. Some years later, we added this variant; still light, still cheap, still easy to store, still super challenging, but now has vertical components for all the SM competitors who like to brace 'out' into a yoke. 19.01.2022 CC UPDATE! Strongman and strongwoman competitors and fans, we have been a bit quiet on updates for the comp, I'm sure you know why. The whole industry has been getting repetitive kicks in the dick down here since March, and I'm sure we havn't seen the last of it yet. No doubt you are wondering weather we will be postponing or cancelling the early December date. Although Uncle Dan is making it pretty clear December is unlikely, we won't be making a call yet.... I originally planned to review the date around 6-8 weeks out from competition, and we will be sticking to that timeline, so as to have the clearest idea of when we can move it to, without disrupting competitors final push to comp day. Without comps to support for the majority of the year, SorS is jackpot-ing all the awesomeness to throw at this one, the sport deserves something special after the year we have all had. We are going all-in to have the biggest strongman comp/party ever! If you are competing; keep prepping and don't despair If you are spectating; dust off your Hawaiian shirts and pina colada glasses, at least the weather will be warm! 16.01.2022 The Compound Festival! January 16th and 17th. Saturday - 103 novice competitors, $4000RRP of prizes 4 freakish feats of strength ASM/W Event 1 - Monster DB for max... Sunday - 80 advanced competitors, $10000 cash pot Events 2-6 ASM/W to crown the strongest, $15000 cash 2020 was tough on everyone, and the sport of Strongman copped it sweet along with the rest of us, especially with the pinnacle event, namely the Arnolds, being cancelled only days out from running. We have been absolutely blown away by the generosity and eagerness to get behind the sport by EVERY single sponsor on the attached graphic. 16.01.2022 Well, as usual, the 'rona is doing its best to derail everyones plans, and 2021 has kicked off in much the same way. As I'm sure most are aware by now, our northern neighbours have come down with a bit of a snivel, which has prompted a closure of the Victorian border to NSW, making attendance at Compound Festival a little challenging. We have been monitoring the situation (far too closely considering it's meant to be holiday time). It's impossible for us to make clear and abs...olute changes to plans, as the laws across the country change daily and without warning. Unfortunately, it's found its way south to Melbourne, which threatens to make things even more challenging in the coming days. The best we can offer at the moment is a 3 stage plan for the next 14 days (as rules could change at least 28 times in that time) Stage 1 (current plan) - The Compound Festival continues in Castlemaine. We are working quickly with our friends and partners at Adonis Athletics Penrith 24:7 and DNS Strength Collective to get the necessary equipment to them, to allow all the NSW competitors a chance to compete on the same dates, at Contagious Carnage/Chaos. Not ideal, but better than just packing it all in right? It will be a stand alone event (scores won't be included in the main festival event, it's impossible to make conditions identical and fair in an online sense), but we will get your comp shirts up their, and make sure some prizes and so on make it up too. Stage 2 - further border closures block other states from coming to Victoria. At this stage we will access the viability of running more Contagious Carnage/Chaos events as satellite locations if there is interest. Compound Festival will continue for Victorians. Stage 3 - public sporting events in Victoria are banned. This obviously makes it impossible for the main event to run at all. We can't lock in specifics yet, but at this stage, we would look at postponing the WHOLE event to a time we think is reasonable for everyone to attend. Please remember - none of these options above are ideal, but while these wide reaching decisions are made for us, without warning, all we can do is keep training, keep getting stronger, and be ready for competition, where ever and whenever it can happen.

08.01.2022 The Starken Story. If you have seen the SorS semi-grip t shirts we have just completed on pre-sale, you may not recognize the brand, Stärken. At first glance, you might think you are buying European beer merchandise, but in actual fact, Starken (german for ‘Strengthen’) is a partnership between myself (aka Stand or Submit) and Scott Waugh.... The man that introduced me to the fitness industry, employed me as a coach and eventually partnered with me to launch Project:Ready; not only are we best of mates, but he is as close to a ‘mentor’ in business as I’ve had (I’m generally suspicious of mentorship). Finding himself without work at the beginning of the first wave of COVID, we made the decision to open a small, high-end print facility together. Drawing on his years of print expertise, we were able to launch even during the midst of stage 3 and 4 lockdown in Melbourne. This is not your ordinary, run of the mill, high volume print house. Following in the Stand or Submit footsteps, our focus in not on bottom dollar, but offering more customisation, functionality, quality, Australian made products where possible, and just all-round cool stuff you haven’t seen before. What does this mean for the Strongman community? Cooler prizes, cooler comp tees, cooler trophies at our comps. The things we are experimenting with will definitely excite you (personalised Hawaiian comp tees for CC anyone?). If you are running comps, or about to do your next gym merch run, get in touch. We don’t have monstrous minimum quantities like screen printers. But more than that; we have some plans to support struggling gyms (Victorian ones in particular, who are yet to be able to trade) to help get them back on their feet when they can open again. 01.01.2022 The Freak Show 4 spectacular shows of might during the Compound Carnage/Chaos weekend If two huge days of competition weren’t enough to get you excited for the start of 2021, then tune in.. During the Saturday event, we have 4 feats of strength planed.... Event 1 The DNS Strength Collective max weight Forklift Yoke The giant yellow beast, weighing 300kg before a plate is even put on it, returns to the comp floor. Can a new Australian record be set? Event 2 The Dohertys Gym max monster DB The classic circus freak event, a giant dumbbell over headwith one hand. Can anyone be the third person ever to press the Mighty Mitko (120kg unloaded). Event 3 The Castlemaine Rod Shop engine block press for reps. Pressing a barbell is one thing, press the thing that makes trucks and cars move is another thing entirely! Awkward and ungainly, and most of all HEAVY, can anyone press these slugs of steel for reps?? Mens 110kg truck block Ladies 70kg V8 Event 4 The Strongman Warrnambool Deuisafell stone carry At potentially the exact opposite axis of the earth to the famous Hussafell stone in Iceland, a then-lanky mountain man carried forth a 147kg gargantuan block from the aussie bush. No warm up, no protection, NO MERCY! Some might say the truest test of a strongman or woman, post a max distance carry with the Deuisafell stone. Men and women use the same stone. Leave your forearm protection at home. If you would like to participate in one of the above events, they are by application only. If you are attempting a record in the first two, you will need to be very close to or at that record level in the weeks prior to get on the list. Spots are VERY limited.
