22.01.2022 Great to see our Surfers continuing to thrive these holidays. Lucy, Gisele and Maggie make up 3 of the 8 semi finalists in the 14 girls at the RipCurl Grom Fest . Oli and Pipi are up in the 12 girls tomorrow. Tim is into the 16 boys final and Mitch and Henry are into the semis of the 12 boys. Great surfing also from Monty and Louis. St Andrew’s surfing

21.01.2022 It has been a huge couple of days for our surfers competing in the Queensland Schools Surfing Championships at Coolum Beach. Summer G and Lucy B put in solid efforts to make the Quarter finals in the girls divisions while special mention goes to Tim B and Will P on a 2nd place finish in the Shield Teams Divison for St Andrew's! Well done legends! Special thanks to Mr Austin who has done a wonderful job convening the large carnival for Queensland School Sport.

20.01.2022 Relay Swimming Champions! We were delighted to host the 2nd Annual St Andrew's Invitational Relay Carnival on Tuesday with 500 swimmers attending and it was great to enjoy a Swim Carnival alongside other schools - Matthew Flinders AC, SC Grammar, Suncoast CC, Good Shepherd LC and Pacific LC. it was lovely to see so many friends and families enjoying the event. The weather held off and there was some thrilling racing and plenty of participation. Fantastic to see our students ...represent the College so proudly and so passionately. It was wonderful to see many of Year 3 children represent the College for the very first time and be part of the evolving St Andrew’s Swimming culture. St Andrew’s enjoyed a fantastic team performance that every team member contributed to and as a result our team of 111 swimmers came away as Champions for 2020, with Matthew Flinders AC in 2nd and SC Grammar in 3rd. Our entire team was superb! The fact that 21 new records were set out of a possible 37 is testament to the great things happening in School Swimming on the Sunshine Coast. Great to see St Andrew's teams set 12 new records Year 9 Boys 4x50m Freestyle Relay - 1.51.81. Year 9 Girls 4x50m Freestyle Relay - 2.00.95 Year 8 Boys 6x50m Freestyle Relay - 2.55.89 Year 8 Girls 6x50m Freestyle Relay - 3.01.09 Year 4 Girls 8x50m Freestyle Relay - 5.17.23 Year 9 Girls 4x50m Medley Relay - 2.17.19 Year 8 Girls 4x50m Medley Relay - 2.18.78 Year 4 Girls 4x50m Medley Relay - 3.03.04 Year 8 6x50m Mixed Freestyle Relay - 2.58.31 Year 4 8x50m Mixed Freestyle Relay - 5.09.69 Girls 8x50m all age combined Freestyle Relay - 4.32.63 Boys 8x50m all age combined Freestyle Relay - 4.20.16 It is a real St Andrew's 'team effort' that ensure events like these come together so well. Thank you everyone for your involvement and efforts at a busy time of year. A huge thank you to our very special team of coaches who have worked superbly with the swimmers. The growth over the last 12 months has been hugely impressive thanks to their dedication. Thank you Laura, Brad, Paul, Karen and Cedric as well as the learn-to-swim teachers for their involvement in instilling a great St Andrew’s Swimming culture.

19.01.2022 What a super afternoon of Touch! Congratulations to 9 St Andrew's teams who have made the Grand Finals in 2020 after what has been a wonderful season. The Year 10 boys played a superb Grand Final against Flinders that went to extra time and a drop off! The quality of Touch was outstanding. Will B went in for the touchdown as the boys won a deserved Premiership! The Senior A Girls reached the Grand Final after a thrilling extra time in their Semi.Really looking forward to seeing our teams next Wednesday play their Finals - well done all!

19.01.2022 This term we have been triailling Hockey at Sunshine Coast Hockey and exploring what this may look like as a future St Andrew's co-curricular option. Our U10 Junior girls have enjoyed Friday evening Hockey and it has been a wonderful success. The 2020 season wraps up next week but keep a look out for information coming about the 2021 Hockey opportunities. Thanks to our U10 girls and families for your wonderful enthusiasm.

19.01.2022 What a wonderful season of Touch Football - 200 players, 23 teams and a very enjoyable season. Fantastic to have 9 teams make the Grand Finals this year. Thank you to all of our coaches and staff who have coached this term. The season is about playing Sport each week and enjoying being active with friends, as well as enjoying the superb competitive component and striving for your individual and team best. Finals night is always an awesome spectacle with the two best teams fr...om each division battling it out. Well done to all 23 teams. Congratulations to the following teams for winning their division: Junior Girls 2 beat Glasshouse CC to win the Junior B Division Intermediate Boys A beat Matthew Flinders to win the Intermediate A Division. Senior Girls 2 beat Glasshouse CC to win the Senior B Division Senior Girls 6 beat Matthew Flinders AC to win the Senior C Division Well done to the Junior Boys A, Junior Boys B2, Senior Girls A and Senior Boys B for finishing runners up in their division. Good Luck to our Int B Girls who play Matthew Flinders in Week 1 in their rescheduled match. To all of the year 12’s who have played their final SCISSA Touch football match thank you for making this season and many seasons before, so special. Good luck in your upcoming exams. Touch is not finished for the year as excitingly, our teams head to Brisbane for the Queensland All Schools Touch Competition next term. Good luck to all of the players involved.

16.01.2022 Our Year 4 and 5 Tennis team are Sunshine Coast Schools Champions and this follows the success of our Senior Open Boys team and Red ball team. It was a wonderful day of tennis as both our boys and girls team played. The boys were undefeated and played a super final against SC Grammar. We are also so proud to have had the only all girls team in the competition and they competed so well. The boys now head to the Queensland Schools tennis Finals in Brisbane in January. Congratulations Noah E, Ethan S, Jai M, Pierce I, Will H, Lily M, Lily S, Lily L, Eve L and Sierra C. Thanks to Glenn, Mark and our super Tennis coaches for their continued wonderful work with St Andrew's tennis.

16.01.2022 Huge Congratulations to a super young lady - Samara D - who has just returned from the Queensland Schools Golf Championships that were held in Cairns. Samara picked up a brilliant team silver medal. She has shown incredible deidcation to her Golf through her training each week and her commitment is incredible. 16.01.2022 There are plenty of St Andrew’s sports teams and our Year 9/10 Boys A Basketball team are a particularly impressive group. It was an absolute pleasure to watch them play because importantly their attitude and approach was wonderful. They listen, they reflect, they learn, they work hard and hustled for each other. Their sportsmanship and respect is outstanding. They bring an excellent energy to the game and things happen! They are unbeaten but wow ...if you want to watch a group of young men truly turn up to learn and grow - come and watch. Well done Luke, Ethan, Connor, Will, Ashton, Daniel and Hudson. Amazing to see 104 new long course personal best times achieved over 135 events. What a great individual effort from all swimmers who competed. Thanks to Cotton Tree Swim Club for hosting a super event.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Mitch P who has won the Queensland Rip Curl Grom search Surf champs organised superbly by Surfing Queensland Inc Mitch took out the victory, capping off a terrific few days for the young gun, after he also won the Woolworths Groms Comp last Sunday. It has always been my goal to win a Rip Curl GromSearch and I’m so stoked to finally do it!. Congratulations to Tim B who finished a superb runner up in the 16 boys and Oli T finished runner up in the 12 girls comp. All 3 now head to National Finals in Melbourne in March at URBNSURF Great to see so many St Andrew’s students competing and loving their Surfing and doing so well. @surfingqueenslandinc

01.01.2022 It was a green #diamondstrong week as Hocknull took out both the Diamond Dash and the Diamond Splash!! Whole College events are so important and celebrate all the wonderful aspects of our College in what has been a tricky year. The Dash today did not disappoint. Some thrilling racing - lots of fun and amazing house spirit! What a week it has been - thanks to all houses, students, staff and everyone for their incredible support!
