What drew me to Stand Tall was their passion for young people and the message that no matter how many times you walk through a storm in life just stand tall and keep moving forward. As a teenager in Freetown Sierra Leone, Aminata Conteh-Biger was abducted by rebels during the civil war until she was finally freed as part of a negotiated prisoner exchange in return for food and medicine. Aminata became the first Sierra Leonean refugee woman in Australia.... Many events and jobs were cancelled. These times can get us frustrated, depressed and unmotivated. But the question should be, what can we take out of it? Being blind had been a challenge also, but what did I take out of it? I decided to not let my blindness hold me back and became a professional surfer.
