24.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all dads out there. Did you know the male Tawny Frogmouth sits on the eggs during the day. At night mum and dad take turns. This photo was taken at our centre. Dad with his two young not long after they started learning to fly.

22.01.2022 What a wonderful day we had last week learning about the native bee. If you look carefully at this photo you will see the swarming bees that were only recently discovered at our centre.

22.01.2022 Do you think students from Linville State School had a great day paddling on Lake Somerset (26 degrees with very little wind)? What a stunning day!

22.01.2022 Year 5 enjoyed a day of canoeing on Somerset Dam. The weather has been fresh and dry. We saw kangaroos, possums and koalas on our night walk and the stars even came out for our late meditation.

14.01.2022 It was an actioned-packed, relaxing, thumbs up kind of day on the Brisbane River with the Duke of Edinburgh participants.

13.01.2022 Who has visited our ‘Nut House’? This cheeky cockatoo didn’t need to use our macadamia nut crackers, he’s got a built in one. Clever bird!

12.01.2022 The Bird of the Month (Bush Stone-curlew) is one of our regulars out at Stanley River EEC. Not only do visiting students often get to hear them at night, but if they look carefully, they will see them hiding amongst the leaves in some of our gardens.

12.01.2022 Safe travels and enjoy all those memories you are taking with you.

12.01.2022 Pre & post storm photos of some tawny frogmouths that we found in one of our trees today. Even with ruffled feathers they are trying to look like tree branches.

11.01.2022 What a start to Day 2 of our Bronze adventurous journey!

11.01.2022 What a find! A mulberry tree loaded with ripe fruit on Day 3 of our Duke of Ed adventurous journey.

11.01.2022 A fantastic program that is helping the lungfish in the Brisbane River. If you want to learn more about this prehistoric species, this is a great read.

10.01.2022 Week 2 of Term 4 and it’s going to be a great one at Stanley River EEC. Have a blast Mt. Creek SHS, Biggenden SS and our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants.

09.01.2022 Over the weekend a group of adventurous youth embarked on a canoe and hike journey. While there are aspects of life that are a given, there are also many wonderful surprises along the way. From HUGE stick insects to unique spiderwebs, you just never know when your next wow moment will come.

09.01.2022 It takes good communication and teamwork to successful navigate the Brisbane River. These Duke of Edinburgh participants spent 4 days working in a number of team combinations to complete their adventurous journey.

09.01.2022 It was great to spend the morning with the Year 8s from Toogoolawah SHS. Can’t wait to visit again in Week 3.

05.01.2022 What did you get up to over the weekend? A group of youth from 4 different schools embarked on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh adventurous journey. They canoed, hiked and camped while exploring their surroundings. They learned about native plants, invasive weeds and the obscure rubbish that often gets left behind in the outdoors (plastic sword).

03.01.2022 This week is Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. Not only do we appreciate Sharon our Teacher Aide, but we love her. Thank you for everything.
