25.01.2022 This year has certainly had its challenges so it was great for SBC men to enjoy some meat together (a bbq spit roast & hear two brothers preach for the first time). What were your highlights?

24.01.2022 Fellowship after gathered worship is always encouraging, but especially sweet in a season of prolonged social isolation. Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! Psalms 133:1

24.01.2022 Let every preacher take note: Amid the frustrations and hardships of ministry, the most Christ-like thing is to stay focused on your calling, give thanks to God, and go on preaching the Gospel - Joel Beeke HT Founders Ministries

23.01.2022 If you're longing to worship God, hungry for His Word and delight in fellowship with His people, please join us at 10.30am for Worship each Sunday. How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints... for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. (Psalm84:1-2) [Note: We have been gathering in a COVID-safe way since June. Please contact the church to pre register your interest due to current capacity constraints]

22.01.2022 This conviction of sola Scriptura the Scriptures alone are the Word of God and, therefore, the only infallible rule for life and doctrineprovided the fuel needed to ignite the Reformation. Michael J. Kruger https://www.ligonier.org/blog/understanding-sola-scriptura/

21.01.2022 He worked long days, yet he knew how to rest. His food was to do the Father’s will, yet he was never hurried in his work. We have much to learn today from the work ethic of Jesus.

20.01.2022 Feeling exhausted, tired and drained? We all need rest. And rest requires hard work. https://www.thegospelcoalition.org//7-ways-to-work-hard-a/

20.01.2022 If your theology makes you increasingly bitter, ungenerous, and critical, it has filled your head, not your heart - Dustin W. Benge

18.01.2022 Another wonderful reminder of the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Thanks to all who were able to worship with us at SBC & witness Daniel’s baptism.

15.01.2022 There are many misconceptions about Jesus. Some think he’s simply a teacher, miracle worker or a very nice guy. This Sunday, we plan to distribute these flyers so Jesus can speak for himself I am... Please pray for our neighborhood distribution and join us if you can after our 10.30am service.

13.01.2022 Historic creeds & confessions like the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith build up the saints, guard against false teaching & prepare future generations for gospel service. Join us if you want to dig deeper into God’s Word & hunger for sound doctrine.

12.01.2022 If you miss praising God by singing together as a church family, hearing His Word preached, celebrating baptisms and the Lord's Supper, please join us at 10.30am Sunday for Worship. FAQ: 1. Do you sing together as a congregation? Yes 2. Why do you sing? We're exhorted to sing by God to glorify Him, to encourage one another and witness to the world. And we're to do this together.... 3. Is it COVID safe? We've implemented reasonable measures to promote safety, without compromising our joy and privilege in praising God. 4. Is it legal? Yes, it accords with God’s law and consistent with current state requirements. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God". Col3:16 [REGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL due to capacity constraints. Please contact the church if you'd like to attend or if you have further questions]

09.01.2022 Pray that pastors (& men aspiring to be pastors) would embody these 6 marks of ministry: 1. Humble ministry 2. Bold ministry 3. Teaching ministry ... 4. Wide ministry 5. Gospel ministry 6. Pure ministry https://www.challies.com/a/6-marks-of-a-faithful-ministry/

09.01.2022 If sports fans can worship in their temple (a.k.a stadiums) with more than 100, how much more should the people of God be able to worship the true God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit? Please consider signing and sharing. http://chng.it/2mTvmJHSfK

09.01.2022 I guess it is that time of year again for a historical reminder: If you had been walking your cow through the pastures around the little village of Wittenberg o...n October 31, 1517, you probably would not have even looked up from the pathway to notice Father Martin posting some sheets of paper on the already cluttered door of the Castle church. It was no more remarkable than it had been the day before when someone else posted a notice at the same spot, or, to use a modern example, no more remarkable than being notified of another update of someone's FB status. When he was done he walked away and the list of 95 propositions hung there along with notices about lost cows or an upcoming function at the church. There were no wondering crowds. It was not done in protest during a church service, leading to shock and amazement. There probably weren't enough interested people around for Martin to bother pointing to them with a hammer. No, while his own soul was deeply disturbed by the indulgence trade, he was simply seeking to promote the little university there in Wittenberg by inviting another university nearby to engage in debate on the topic---similar to challenging them to the equivalent of a baseball game. Some of the more learned of the community might stop and read through the points and find them quite interesting (as did a printer who copied them down and, at least according to some sources, ran off and had them printed and distributed). But for most on that day, there was no hubbub, no amazed looks, no brave Martin pointing with a hammer. Just a reminder that big things often start in small ways. See more

08.01.2022 This saving repentance is an evangelical grace, whereby a person, being by the Holy Spirit made sensible of the manifold evils of his sin, doth, by faith in Christ, humble himself for it with godly sorrow, detestation of it, and self-abhorrency, praying for pardon and strength of grace, with a purpose and endeavour, by supplies of the Spirit, to walk before God unto all well-pleasing in all things. Second London Baptist Confession (15.3)

07.01.2022 There is no injustice with our God. The LORD is just & merciful. For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver; the LORD is our king; he will save us. - Isaiah 33:22

06.01.2022 WORLDVIEW MATTERS We are constantly bombarded with information all demanding a response. But how do we prioritise, how do we assess accuracy, how do we know what is ultimately true? Do we believe the media, the majority, the experts or do we rely on self as the final judge of what is true? And on what matters? This coming Sunday, we will consider the absolute claims of the Bible regarding TRUTH. We will see that there are competing forces in the world challenging the claims ...of Jesus Christ I am the truth - The truth will set you free - The Spirit will lead you into all truth Please join us at 10.30am Sunday to hear from God’s Word.

04.01.2022 Informality in church life is equivalent to living in a commune or de facto relationships, but formality promotes intimacy and deeper relationships. How are we enriching family life? https://www.9marks.org//how-formal-membership-makes-the-/

Names and contact details must be provided prior to entry.... 3. Remember to maintain a healthy social distance. 4. The baptisimal service is in the lower hall See more

03.01.2022 Always an encouragement when we worship God together through song, prayer, reading Scripture & hearing the gospel preached. Our closing song from this morning: O Breath of life, come sweeping through us,... Revive Your church with life and power. O Breath of life, come, cleanse, renew us, And fit Your church to meet this hour. O Breath of love, come breathe within, Renewing thought and will and heart; Come, Love of Christ, afresh to win, Revive Your church in every part.

03.01.2022 Singing is not a performance to be viewed passively, but a corporate act of worship. https://www.thegospelcoalition.org//10-things-i-did-not-d/

03.01.2022 In Col2:8, Paul warns the Colossians against being taken captive by empty and deceptive philosophy according to human tradition and the world, which draw people from Christ. Our Worldview Matters series engages with different ideas circulating in contemporary culture that compete with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our first message explores: What is truth? https://stanmorebaptist.org.au/sermon-se/worldview-matters/

02.01.2022 We are thankful for the women of SBC who have supported & encouraged one another throughout the year. May the Lord continue to bless & use you in His service.

01.01.2022 When there’s something in the Word of God that I don’t like, the problem is not with the Word of God, it’s with me - R.C. Sproul H/T Ligonier Ministries

01.01.2022 Thankful for these brothers who are serious about God’s Word powerfully impacting their lives & shaping the church. Please pray that men would be raised up from this group to preach His Word in all its glorious fullness.
