23.01.2022 CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT, COVID-19: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As of 6.30pm tonight (Wednesday 5th August) our club was contacted by NSW Health advising that an under 15's player (no team was mentioned) in last weekends game against Newcastle Jets has since tested positive for COVID-19. We are co-operating with the authorities in line with their processes around contact tracing. All of our players who participated in the game will be required to isolate for 14 days. We have advise...d our under 15's families and one player from the under 14's who played up in that game. NSW Health have been provided with their contact details to advise them further. The club and our members have been very diligent around safe COVID practices in line with the governments regulations such as our change rooms were not in use, minimal crowd attendance at games, players not staying beyond their game time, social distancing, signage around the ground, recording attendance of everyone at the game and sanitisers made available. We communicate these requirements to our members before every game and regularly for training. It was a great day of football last Saturday and we dont want this to be forgotten during this challenging time. We will continue to work with our football family, stakeholders, government and the wider community to ensure we maintain a level of normality while playing our part in the dealing with the challenges posed by COVID-19. Finally, we also want to send a broader message to our under 15 families. Throughout this period you and of all our teams have been amazing and we could not wish for better team mates. COVID-19 has thrown us another challenge but we promise that our board, management, coaches and volunteers will continue to do their best to deliver a world class football program. We started a new process this year under the leadership of our head coach, Ben Rollison and Youth TD, Gareth Long. Todays news does not change this fact, we all just need to work a little harder to ensure our players keep developing and loving the game of football while ensuring everyones health and safety.

22.01.2022 Stanmore youth will kick off Round 1 this Saturday against South Coast Flame. Its a home game for the Hawks to be played at Valentine Sports Park No. 2. The Illawarra club will prove to be a formidable opponent for our young boys who will be looking to start their season with a win.... 19.01.2022 On Sunday our club participate in the M-Series Futsal Competition. We also had our soft launch/introduction of our new kit for the 2021 season which we offered the Tamil team to wear on the day. It also has a new logo and brand. Can you guess what we will be calling our club in 2021?

17.01.2022 Round 2 of the NPL 3 saw Stanmore Hawks fall to Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club in a tightly contested game. Uni came out full of energy, consistently getting behind the Stanmore defence. One such run led to a free kick which Panayoti Gotsis dispatched past goalkeeper Nick Carosi for a well-deserved 1-0 half time lead. Stanmore found their groove in the second half bombarding the Uni goal through captain Jovan Blagojevic and Lawrence Hanna with Tim Wohlfiel bombing on from ri...ght back. On 55 minutes, Connor Quilligan finally got the Hawks o the score board and they looked to have all the momentum. Uni had other ideas and on 64 minutes another set piece saw Jack Lapi head home. Stanmore threw everything at Uni in the last 20 minutes, but the students held on for a well-deserved victory. 15.01.2022 The draw due to COVID-19 has not been the usual flow of youth and senior games on the one day and last Saturday we finished our NPL youth matches at 5pm. Earlier that week we reached out to the Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association Incorporated - CDSFA and offered to host a few of their local matches. We had the pleasure of having the over 45/2's from Marrickville FC and Strathfield Strikers FC play each other. A lot of fun being had by both teams with players enjoying the Arlington Ground atmosphere on what was a beautiful day. Plenty of souvlaki enjoyed after the game too. You're all welcome back lads!

11.01.2022 Stanmore first grade took on traditional rivals Gladesville Ryde Magic in what turned out to be a classic Round 1 encounter. Stanmore dominated early but could not capitalise thanks to some amazing saves by veteran Magic keeper Tohouroglou. Gladesville took the early lead through a rocket finish by marquee signing Harris Gaitatzis and thats how it stayed till half time.... Stanmore came out firing in the second half but were once again frustrated by the brilliance of the Gladesville shot stopper. The frustration continued when a counter attack saw H. Gaitatzis round Nick Carosi and finish in style for his double. With the clock winding down, veteran Sam Awad and speedster Aydin Kumburlu entered the fray and made an immediate impact. Stanmore got their deserved goals when captain and marksman Jovan Blagojevic powered home from close range and when Kumburlu weaved past three defenders to slot in the corner, the comeback was complete. Stanmore finished the stronger but in the end a 2-2 draw was probably a fair result. In the earlier results, Stanmores 20s got up 2-1 whilst the 18s won 2-0, overall making it a positive day for the Seniors.

08.01.2022 What a week for our club starting last Sunday when a group of our u20's attended the M-Series Futsal competition at the Sydney Football Centre in Homebush, a multicultural futsal tournament involving various migrant and refugee groups run by M-Series Futsal & Play For Lives. Big thanks to Flo Binakaj (u20 coach), Liz Drakopoulos (us20 manager) and players Emmanual, Aaron, Liam, Mohammad, Izmail, Luke, Gus & Damian. 07.01.2022 Stanmore Hawks youth had four competitive games against South Coast Flame FC. The 13s came up against a physical opponent and went down 4-1. The 14s recorded a solid 2-1 win and both our 15s and 16s came away with 1-1 draws in games they couldve won with a bit more luck.... Great effort by all the boys!

03.01.2022 Our under 15's completed their mandatory 2 weeks in isolation as of last Saturday evening. They were to play Canterbury-Bankstown on Saturday at Arlington but had to reschedule. The Berries were gracious enough to host us at The Crest last night. A close encounter by all accounts and our boys came though 1-nil on top. We had to share the goal as the celebrations were more than just about the goal. A big thanks goes out to the parents and families of the under 15s and under 14's who were in isolation. So glad to have everyone back on the park. Sharing this little video to warm their hearts. Thanks again to the Berries for their support and wishing them well for the rest of the season.
