15.01.2022 What would you do if the income you relied on was suddenly gone? When David lost his job due to COVID-19, it was the first time he wondered how he would feed hi...s kids, or pay the next bill. Vinnies is on the ground, helping families like David's with food hampers, fuel cards and grocery vouchers. This Christmas, you can help families in need. 15.01.2022 Four times in this Gospel Christ commands us, Be watchful or Watch! While we are to watch for Christ’s 2nd coming, we also need to watch for Christ’s coming now in our midst. Being watchful & alert for the 2nd coming isn’t enough, we must consciously seek to identify Christ already present. If we are proactively watch for everyday encounters with Christ, he will surely not find us sleeping

06.01.2022 Did you catch our online event ‘Circuit Breaker’ on Friday night? It came after news that South Australians were allowed to come out of the hard lockdown, but w...e still wanted to reiterate how important it is to look after yourself during tough times. This year has been an especially tough one for a lot of people and has pushed our resilience to higher levels. We want to remind you to be kind to yourself and don’t feel bad if you don’t get to reach all of the goals you had planned for the beginning of the year. Here are some ideas of what you can do to take a break and be kind to your mind and body! What are some of things you would add to the list? See more

02.01.2022 We begin the beautiful season of Advent, a time of preparation and anticipation for the coming of Jesus Christ. It can be a lost time for some, caught in the ex...citement of Christmas that it heralds and opens us up to celebrate. This week’s Gospel helps us to enter the season with alertness and watchfulness. Gospel MK 13:33-37 Jesus said to his disciples:Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.It is like a man traveling abroad. He leaves home and places his servants in charge, each with his own work, and orders the gatekeeper to be on the watch.Watch, therefore;you do not know when the Lord of the house is coming, whether in the evening, or at midnight,or at cockcrow, or in the morning.May he not come suddenly and find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to all: ‘Watch! This Sunday night, I invite you to take a moment or a few minutes to pause and pray with this passage from Mark’s Gospel, as well as the other readings of the day. May it open your heart and mind to the preparation and joy of the season. #sundaysignificance #maristlife #prayer #advent

01.01.2022 On behalf of Archbishop Patrick O’Regan, I would like to advise some further important information in relation to the announcements made by the Premier Steven Marshall today. From midnight this evening Wednesday, November 18 2020 we are moving into six days of hard lockdown. The hard lockdown is to restrict movement in the community. Whilst there was no specific mention of places of worship, as the direction is a 6 day lockdown, churches are to close effective from midnight... this evening. Weddings and funerals are not permitted. For clarification on funerals, contact should be made with the organising Funeral Director. Masks will be required outside of the home, which is only permitted to access essential services and grocery shopping. All schools will be closed, except for those with children who have parents working in essential services. After this 6 day period a further 8 days of other restrictions will apply. The Government is continuing to develop what this will look like and we will communicate this information as it becomes available. During this challenging time we ask that you and your communities pray for the wellbeing of each other. From Sarah Moffat, Acting Chancellor, Adelaide Archdiocese
