24.01.2022 CAMPDRAFT AND RODEO MEETING - 7PM - 13 OCTOBER 2020 Well the Stanthorpe Campdraft and Rodeo subcommittee are getting back in the saddle, so to speak, and have their first meeting for the upcoming campdraft season on Tuesday 13 October 2020 at 7pm in the Ringside meeting room at Stanthorpe Showgrounds. If there is anyone in the local community who would like to join us to start planning our campdraft and rodeo events for next year, you would be most welcome. 20.01.2022 We won't know if Stanthorpe Campdraft will be going ahead on 8-10 May this year. We will only find out on 30 April when the ACA review the campdraft postponement decision. If it doesn't happen in May we'll try to schedule one for later in the year. Until then stay safe everyone.
19.01.2022 CAMPDRAFT PLANT DRIVE FUNDRAISER Well everyone knows that, like everyone else, we were unable to run our usual Stanthorpe Campdraft event this year. And we still have some projects to finish at the Stockman's Canteen at Stanthorpe Showgrounds. So, just in time for spring, we're running a plant drive fundraiser to help raise some funds. If you would like to choose from a fantastic selection of native plants from Mole River Native Nursery, click on this link which will take yo...u to our web page https://www.stanthorpeshowgrounds.com.au/campdraft-fundrais. On that page you'll find the plant selection catalogue and order form, banking details and other instructions. You have to be able to collect the plants from Stockman's Canteen at Stanthorpe Showgrounds on 10 October 2020. Plants are $5.50 ea for a 3 inch pot. At the time of collection your trees will be about a foot high and shrubs will be a good 6-8 inches, just perfect for going in the ground. We have a wonderful selection of native plants in our catalogue this year knowing that everyone will be enthusiastic about their gardens this year in the lead up to spring. 18.01.2022 ACA NATIONAL FINALS CAMPDRAFT Folks, its official. Stanthorpe won't be hosting the ACA National Finals Campdraft in 2021. Instead we will be hosting it in 2023. Let's hope we'll all get to some sense of normality by then. Thanks to everyone for your support and best wishes to date. Keep 'em coming for another couple of years.
17.01.2022 2020 STANTHORPE SHOWDRAFT - HIGHEST SCORING LADY RIDER As the highest scoring lady rider in the 2020 Stanthorpe Showdraft was tied between Danielle Bradshaw and Tanya Bellingham. For her win, Danielle receives $50 donated by Sue Harrison from Cedar Grove Australian Stock Horse Stud, an earing and neck scarf set donated by Tanya Bellingham and a key ring and catalogue from Kent Saddlery.... For her win, Tanya receives $50 donated by Sue Harrison from Cedar Grove Australian Stock Horse Stud, a bottle of port from Ballandean Estate and a key ring and catalogue from Kent Saddlery. 15.01.2022 SUCCESSFUL GRANT The Stanthorpe Agricultural Society's Campdraft and Rodeo subcommittee is please to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a $1,200.00 grant to purchase a Skope Centaur 3-door stainless steel commercial fridge with built-in stainless steel infra-red heating shelf. This equipment is necessary for the effective operation of the Stockman's canteen at Stanthorpe Showgrounds. This project has been assisted by Grants to Community funding from the Southern Downs Regional Council.
