25.01.2022 Spring is here, and the weather is perfect for exploring the Granite Belt this Father’s Day weekend. There are so many choices - around town, visiting the wineries, or out in the forests and national parks - where will you be walking or running this weekend?

25.01.2022 It's time to up the (not)parkrun ante! Challenge your brother or sister Go head-to-head with your neighbouring parkrun... Fly the flag against other parkrun countries Go for that PB You decide! View the live results http://parkrun.me/icyb4

25.01.2022 Hi , hope everyone is staying active and enjoying what is a beautiful sunny morning . Don’t forget you can log a (not)parkrun time anywhere at anytime Monday to Sunday just to keep your goals in sight . Have a nice weekend

24.01.2022 Wow just when you thought the frost has left us you’re wrong, this photo snapped by Margie doing her weekly Friday morning notparkrun with Bazza. Anyone keen on heading out in the morning to maybe catch one last frost ?. If you do we promise you will enjoy it

23.01.2022 With some awesome new works happening in and around our parkrun track there’s no better time to go for a stroll or jog along Quart Pot to check it all out. With possibly a fresh day tomorrow you may just need to throw on an extra layer just in case, or just harden up and enjoy the great outdoors either way it will be fun still no word on when we can start again but we will return -Glen

22.01.2022 Look at these cool cats socially distancing in the shade after volunteering at parkrun on Saturday. Thanks everyone! We still need two more volunteers for this Saturday - a marshal and a barcode scanner. Who can help? Cheers, Jen

22.01.2022 We're a bit excited about the return of parkrun in 13 days time . A big thank you to David, Karl, Amanda, Margie, Glen, Pete and Michael for offering to volunteer, so the rest of us can dust off our barcodes for a run or walk on 28 November. Who's coming? Cheers, Jen

22.01.2022 We love our volunteers at Stanthorpe parkrun and are very grateful to everyone who has donned the orange vest for us since parkrun returned in November. Can you find your name? parkrun is on every Saturday so come along tomorrow to Talc Street just before 7am to join in the fun, and remember to thank our vollies Glen, David, Karen, Amanda, Janice, Nicole, Miles and Anna. And if you feel like helping out, pop your name on the roster board

22.01.2022 Funny I don’t think we have any Frosts by name that is certainly from nature

21.01.2022 Not quite ready to restart here in QLD , but always getting closer . Be patient stay active and have fun (click on the link in the post to see where QLD is at ) Glen

18.01.2022 Good luck to all our parkrunners who will travel to Goondiwindi this weekend to compete in the Festival of Hell (sounds like fun ). We wish you cool temps and tailwinds all the way. For the rest of us, parkrun is on tomorrow as usual, thanks to James, Marina, Anita, Gwen, Rosalie and Amanda, who will be our volunteers. See you at Talc Street 6.50 am for a 7am start. Please remember to scan in either at home (using the QR code pictured below) or when you get there. Cheers, Jen

17.01.2022 Please be patient, we will return

17.01.2022 Roley Red Dog has continued to enjoy his Saturday morning strolls around Quart Pot Creek, albeit a little later than the once-regular 7am start (it’s not-parkrun after all). He takes great delight in seeing other parkrunners out and about, today spotting seven familiar faces. One such person was regular parkrunner Michael Patti, who was only too happy to stop for a chat. Michael, who is currently stuck on 67 parkruns and 8 volunteer roles, told Roley the roving reporter th...at doing regular not-parkruns is an important part of his week I even came out here the other day on my 70th birthday he said. Well done Lick, and happy belated birthday! In other local not-parkrun news, a trio of local runners planned a special run today in recognition of the horses’ birthday, a milestone that was lost on some. Check out their talented strava art! See more

17.01.2022 hi everyone just a quick check in . While there is no start date for events in QLD we are getting oh so close so please find your barcode now just in case in the next month or so we are good to go . It’s fantastic to see so many out there on the trails keeping active and having fun , we hope to see you all soon Glen

16.01.2022 Near perfect conditions were enjoyed by all at parkrun today, including some vibrant visitors from Ballina and surrounds. A big thank you to our vollies - Glen, David, Nicole, Miles, Anna, Amanda, Janice and Karen. Special mention to our youngest vollie Miles, who did a great job directing and encouraging parkrunners on the marshal corner, and also thanks to Anna for the wonderful photos. See you all next week.

16.01.2022 When you return to parkrun things might look a little different. Under our COVID-19 Framework we're asking you to... Stay home if unwell Distance yo...urself where possible Show your barcode to scanner from a distance This will help keep our our events safe

15.01.2022 Great story of a legend, goes to show anything is possible.

14.01.2022 Tomorrow will be our 22nd Saturday without parkrun so we thought it’s time for everyone to check in on that friend, neighbour , brother or sister work mate or even check in on the . Every week you can enter a (not)parkrun time for 5k of your choosing so grab that mate or ya mum or whoever you like and go for a stroll/jog (and chat) and log a time ,oh and in the morning it could be raining even better. -Glen

14.01.2022 Ok parkrunners, it's time to dig out your barcode and lay your running gear out for the return of parkrun tomorrow. Please familiarise yourselves with the parkrun social distancing and covid safe measures pictured, and get down to Talc Street ready for a 7am start. Remember, no barcode no time.... so if you can't find yours after 8 months then find an old parkrun email and follow the links to print a new one. See you in the morning! Jen

14.01.2022 A few points of interest ahead of our first event back on the 28th of November, keep posted for more info over the next few weeks Exciting to be getting back to parkrun

12.01.2022 Wow! 129 eager runners, walkers and their dogs turned up to welcome parkrun back to town. A big welcome to the Zonta crew, first time parkrunners Brett, Charlotte, Tarnay, Hannah Anne and Peggy, as well as our visitors from Toowoomba, Lismore, Gold Coast and Brisbane. A special mention to Hannah, who has travelled many many parkruns in the pram, and has a barcode now that she's 4 and completed the course in 39 minutes! Well done Hannah! Congratulations to Holly, Luke, B...ethany, Lousie, Alex, Anthony and Erin for setting new personal best times! Kudos to Alex from Brisbane for finishing first today, and notching up your 50th parkrun. We are grateful to everyone for adhering to the new parkrun covid-safe measures. Thank you to our volunteers Amanda, Karl, Glen, David, Michael, Pete and Margie who were happy to wait an extra week for their return parkrun. We still need a few volunteers for next week - send us a message now if you can help - that will save me begging for vollies later in the week. Cheers, Jen

08.01.2022 Five kilometres. 5,000 metres. 500,000 centimetres. 5,000,000 millimetres. 3.1 miles. Some weeks it can feel a lot, lot longer! Here are five mental tricks you can use to make your weekly parkrun feel like a walk, jog or run in the park http://parkrun.me/53ke6 #loveparkrun

05.01.2022 Hope everyone is enjoying a run/walk and vollie this lovely Saturday before parkrun returns next weekend . Our team here at Stanthorpe parkrun cannot wait to get back into it , look forward to seeing you all then -Glen

04.01.2022 With a little sprinkling of rain and freshly mown grass how awesome does our start/finish line look . Hope everyone enjoyed a walk/jog or run over the weekend and keep your fingers crossed that we can resume very soon . -Glen

03.01.2022 Did you know that Stanthorpe parkrun has the highest elevation of all QLD events above sea level , now that’s pretty special and certainly one to check off (even in these (not)parkrun times) -Glen

03.01.2022 Hi everyone hope everyone is staying safe and well . With our NT friends up and running/ walking and volunteering again we are getting closer to a possible start date so there’s no better time to locate your barcode or even order a wrist band or shoe tag to be ready to go. -Glen https://parkrun-shop.com.au/

02.01.2022 Long time parkunner Michael Mueller has recently returned from a longer than expected trip his family in Germany. He wrote to us last month while in quarantine, outlining his hotel room not-parkrun: My hotel room is quite large and I needed a very minor furniture shift. With the case of my bass clarinet (83cm) I measured approx 9m distance from the turning point at the door, through the short corridor, along wall and window to turning point in front of the wall. A few trie...s and I worked out that I was doing between 70 and 74 laps of 18m each in 10 minutes. Even with hard acceleration it was not possible to run under 7min/Km - the hard thing of this course was not the running itself, but constantly stopping/turning every 9m. Eventually on Tue 13th it was parkrun day (sorry, no 7.00am start) - between 10.47 and 11.29 I ran for 41min, a little longer than necessary to be absolutely sure to have covered at least the distance of 5km or rather a bit more. Tomorrow my quarantine ends, and to me it feels like a very adventurous year is already drawing to a relaxing end ... Cheers Michael Michael, you really are a parkrun legend. We look forward to seeing you on 28 November and hearing of your adventures.

01.01.2022 5 sleeps to go

01.01.2022 Not so many people out and about at Quart Pot Creek this morning, possibly because it was raining, with falls of 12-23mm reported by not-parkrunners. But the biggest not-parkrun news is that the new footbridge is open ready for your enjoyment! Yay! Post your new bridge photos in the comments, and log your not-parkrun results here: https://www.parkrun.com/signin/ . Have a great weekend everyone.

01.01.2022 Have you heard the exciting news?? Queensland parkruns are starting up again on 28 November. We can’t wait to see everyone again. Tag your friends and get excited
